These Hopsin interviews were very interesting in how they reflect upon the public's perspective of artists vs. what goes on behind the scenes. Hopsin is right that in the past he was more of an underground, youtube, do-it-yourself rapper, and he's one of the biggest in that class of rappers. It's totally different from the life of a rapper who is on the radio, always meeting other rappers, and making their way around the entertainment industry/media. I will be really curious to see how successful Hopsin is as he tries to establish these relationships and foster his growth in the more mainstream rap game. I hope he is able to find this sense of success while maintaining his rawness and not becoming overly conscious of his own image that he is forcing onto the public (like in this interview when he does the impression of the rapper who gives really generic answers and acts like they don't give too much of a shit). Only time will tell.

+Blake Simpson He's bigger than anybody on strange music. Why would he do that.
@exc3ll3ntrhythm258 жыл бұрын
How is he bigger than tech nine? strange music has made way more money than funk volume, which is how you define success. I've never herd any song by him on the radio except for am i a psycho. yeah thats youtube subscribers hop wants to become mainstream now; youtube is just a place to start like for justin bieber, i don't really like his music but he is youtube's biggest musical success and he left youtube for more money which if hop did would be awesome he would still keep a presence on youtube but would start focusing on what he is saying, the chess game that is the music industry. Not only that but he talks about wanting to get a better team surrounding him and strange music could get him radio play and be closer to shady records and dr dre. Being independent is overrated which i feel hop is starting to realize. Don't get me wrong I love hop and have been listening to him since haywire i just feel like if he would've signed to a major label back then he would be a lot bigger, with the major label doing advertising for him and setting up better opportunities which is what he's talking about in these interviews.

HOP - YOU'RE A GENIUS...DAME DIDN'T "DO ANYTHING TO YOU" THAT YOU DIDN'T ALLOW. AND YOU ALLOWED IT BECAUSE IT NEEDED TO HAPPEN. YOUR HIGHER SELF...THAT PART OF YOU THAT IS SHOOTING "YOUR MOVIE" KNEW THAT DAME HAD TO GO AND IT HAD TO HAPPEN EXACTLY LIKE IT DID. YOUR HIGHER SELF CHALLENGED YOUR LOWER SELF ON WHETHER TO KEEP ROLLIN WITH AN ELEMENT THAT WAS NOT SERVING YOUR HIGHER GOOD AT THAT TIME. BUT YOUR LOWER SELF WANTED TO "KEEP THE PEACE" NOT REALIZING THAT THE "PEACE" WAS ACTUALLY KILLING A "PIECE" OF YOU. TURN THE HURT INTO GRATITUDE. THIS HAD TO HAPPEN FOR YOU...YOU HAD TO LIBERATE YOURSELF TO TAKE YOUR CREATIVITY TO A MUCH HIGHER LEVEL. ALWAYS PUT YOURSELF FIRST...LOVE AND RESPECT YOURSELF FIRST. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE AWESOME CONTENT. IT HAS CHANGED THE LIVES OF MILLONS!!!! AND FUCK OBAMA AND BEING SEEN WITH "OTHER CELEBRITIES". TRUST ME YOU WANT TO REMAIN INDEPENDENT ON EVERY LEVEL OTHERWISE, YOU WILL INVITE THAT "DAME" ENERGY BACK INTO YOUR LIFE...AND IF YOU'RE READY FOR THAT, GO FOR IT..BUT IF YOU'RE NOT READY TO PLAY THAT GAME - STAY FOCUSED ON YOUR INDEPENDENCE AND YOUR LOVE AND RESPECT FOR YOURSELF...PEACE :-)
