Glad to hear you say it is not as easy a open circuit... Because it is not, and not only for cleaning. I used to be one of the first ready on the boat, it's fasto to set up OC equipment and check it. Now with the horizon I'm almost always the last one on the boat. I will certainly improve and do all the checks faster... It is not complicated, but not as easy as OC.

I've learnt to just start getting ready earlier before the skipper gives us the nod. I've also found I can get the pre-jump check done early, then switch everything off then as long as I remember to open the bottom gas before switching the unit back on again, it doesn't need me to do the check again.

Could you use compressed air to dry out the internals?

Hey. I guess you could, but you'd have to be careful around the BOV, at least for this unit. The mushroom valves in the BOV are wafer thin silicone designed to be opened incredibly easy just with the force of a normal breath. Not sure how they'd hold up to a blast of compressed air. The counterlungs are probably a bit more robust, but you need to get every drop out and even if I did blow it out, I'd still leave it open to make sure anything I'd missed dried out. Thanks for the comment! Catch you on a dive soon!!
