I problem I had with the Tecline is that it loosens while on the neck by itself, so you have to adjust just before you enter the water on every dive. Does this also happens to you? Changed the steel buckle system for the plastic press and release and it does the job for me. Excellent mask, totally brutal field of view.

You know if you have to tighten the screws when adjusting the steel buckle?
@UKDiver

@@Ditz81 I’ve not noticed that to be honest. I tend to keep mine on my forehead when not in use rather than round my neck (drysuits don’t leave much neck room TBH) so maybe as the strap is under tension most of the time this negates the problem 🤷

I have the Radical in clear did not notice the glare coming in or annoying me but I find the nose pocket slightly too big and therefore hard to equalize and the lens sticking to my forehead. Has this happened to you or anyone else using the mask? I might get a back-up mask for next dice holiday, either Apex VX1 or Aqualung Plasma (same as Apeks but cheaper).

Man Your comment about the lanyard and boltsnap is so eye opening...I never thought of it even though it annoyed me so much having that thing dangling... Also, the carry box should indeed have a way to store the torch with either attached with preference towards the boltsnap of course. Now am a fan and subscriber :)

This light is 1400lm as per test done by scubadiving. I know that the majority of the stuff is done in China but this one (from the ads specs perspective) feels like classic China product. Like old boomboxes with 1000 watts. It does the thing but why it is so hard to be honest :)

Hi Andy, really interested in SCRs , Mares horizon, although I am advanced level diver only with more than 120 dives. Is it possible to book a test dive with The ROHO for testing the Mares Horizon ? I am Flying to Newcastle, and to South Shields next month mid.

Thanks for sharing, diving in Malta once, very similar situation, nothing that obvs from dive about 6 did pretty much same profile but a girl got bent, turns out she had a really hot shower.... When u said u got in car turned heaters up yo max etc... I thought ummmn could that have done it? 🤔 If you were fully clothed but still cold enough to have to get all the heating on maybe you raised body temp too quickly and a nitro bubble expanded too quickly as a result? Any what a scary thing glad u got through it...

I would just like to say your pretty spot on I started my BSAC at Christmas times and had booked a holiday to Egypt I thought I'd be able to complete it before going away and be able to dive in Egypt needless to say the club route for open water is rather slow so when I eventually arrived in Egypt without having completed my open water I paid a PADI center while on holiday to get certified and have since started my sports diver no holiday booked this time as I have a better idea of just how long it will take had BSAC had a partner center last year I would have probably booked my holiday there instead of sharm

Hi, thanks for the video. One question.... what's your conclusion after 2 years of use with Backscatter Macro Wide 4300? Is lumens power enough for underwater video with small camera like GoPro or TG7?
@UKDiver
@UKDiver Ай бұрын
Hey Alfredo. Yeah, I like them. Obviously understand their limitations like any light. They are not going to light up a very large scene. Anything more than a meter or so away isn’t going to be lit. But the battery life is good. They are solid enough. I even flooded one, rinsed it out and it works as if it never happened! I’m pleased with them and have no plans to swap them out currently.

No. The HUD is just a red / green light. Green everything is good. Various states of red (flashing / steady) mean different things but none of them good 👍

I’m diving RK3 HD. How do these compare to the HD ? Something lighter would be great for travel, we’re doing a liveaboard and have paid for extra weight to make sure we can get all the necessities in with the RK3’s included 🤣

Andy, really pleased that your outcome was good. Death or long term paralysis really put's a crimp in SCUBA diving. Years back I was on a course (nothing to do with diving) and a comment the instructor made was (something like) 'Disaster planning is so difficult because a disaster is what happens when the situation exceeds the plan' - In other words, with diving, you dive as safely as you can but human physiology (for each of us, as an individual and virtually moment by moment) is variable. So the dive that you might do safely tomorrow, can gove you the bends today. LIFE: It's not about avoiding risks, you can't, it's about minimizing them. That's the best that any of us can do.

I've got Hollis bat fins, rk3 and seawing supernova gorilla for travel. I can't get a good fit on my rk3 so they don't get much water time. My Hollis are absolutely the go to for power but they are a bit heavy for warm water diving or travel. Seawing is good for travel. Those tecline look like something I should try for weight and power. Thanks for the video

Much ado around about nothing. THere's a pouch in the bag that you can put additional items. Personal choice for where the switch is. Freedive spearfishermen prefer lanyards. Hunting in large caves it's better to use a wide spread light.

Nice! I’m back over on Saturday though shore based. I’m really not keen on booking a livaboard at the moment. Last coupe of years it’s seemed like the Wild West out there with half of them sinking and the other half going up in smoke. Have fun!

Hi Andy, thanks for the great video, particularly the part about using the ball to hold the spanner in place because mine was a pig to undo as well! Just one question - do you know if the black plastic part between the adapter and the body be tight between the two? I changed my DS4 stage reg and everything works great but this separator is very slightly loose.

Hi, unfortunately I missed the live Q&A: Glad you're recovered now! You mentioned that you use Nitrox for deeper dives in Malta, but at the sorts of depths you were at in Capernwray you could have used a fairly high mix of Nitrox which would be ideal for the long relatively shallow dives that you were making. Do you think Nitrox would have made any difference? Was there any reason you didn't use it?

Thanks for sharing, guys. The BHA flowchart confirms 999 first, then phone a dive doctor / NDA Helpline. Finding your location: If you have data on your phone, you phone map will tell you what road you are on (avoiding ‘I think I’m on the M62’) If you have a iPhone, (regardless of whether you have data) the compass app will also give you your co-ordinates. If you must stop on a motorway, TRY to stop near an emergency phone. When you use that, emergency services will know where you are. They are every mile or so on motorways, so worst case you’ll have half a mile to walk. The recommendation is that you use these in preference to a mobile phone because the emergency services know where they are. But, motorways are dangerous places - and for a variety of reasons, going for a walk might not be a good idea - you need to assess the risks and do what is safest at the time. On motorways and major trunk roads, there are ‘marker posts’ every 100 meters. Often small blue or green posts with a 3or 4 digit number and sometimes a letter on them. They’ll pinpoint your location to the emergency services. Marker posts also have an arrow pointing to the nearest emergency phone.
