I can’t thank you enough for making this channel. Brian Phillips RC is my go to channel for my newfound addiction and the veterans at my flight field are amazed of how quickly I’m advancing. They actually come to me now with questions about setting up radios and receivers, new technology, and that’s because of your channel. 👍🏻 But….I don’t remember which plane video you did when you explained how to do the cornhole maneuver!

I'm on my 3rd F-15 Eagle, the first two crashed due to pilot error and a servo flame out, both were destroyed, the new one has about 10 flights on it, running a Motion RC Eagle A3 V2 gyro in it. I like this gyro over the safe select, very easy to setup and you can control your gains from the transmitter. I also have the Arrows RC Marlin 64 mm edf, I upgraded the fan to a high out put 70 mm, running a 12 blade fan, its running on a small 6S battery from Flex Innovations. I also have the Arrows RC Mini Viper 50 mm edf, this little jet is a blast to fly, no gyro needed, it's fast with no bad habits......

Brian I have this edf jet and absolutely love it! I have hand launched it tons I grip it in front top of the canopy and pull it upward and forward it goes every time unless you drag it into your side got swing it wide. I also have flown it with gear and I really enjoy landing this jet on it gear!!😃💯👍I did set more travel in the elevators and ailerons for a wild roll rate! One thing I did thats super cool is add functional scale rudders. This jet with rudders will do sweet snap rolls with no aileron imput and the knife edge flight is fun. Definitely recommend the duel rudders. I really enjoy how this plane flys and lands without stalling ever! I have never had a bad landing with this jet but I have found if you belly land this thing at any alpha angle it rocks forward stabbing its nose cone into the ground and breaking it!😲😵gota slide it in level on its belly, its too fragile but in my f15 I put carbon fiber into the nose cone and whole front end of jet and now its very tough! Thanks for getting back to this little sweet heart! When i fly at the park near by this jet is quite often most admirers favorite plane.

Must admit this is a good jet. Was my first edf. Its very robust and can handle belly landings with ease. The foam just seems denser and better quality than other price range jets. I added some heli tape to the nice squared underbody and it lands nice and flat. My F16 64mm doesn't belly land as well and seems more fragile.

Tough call. Depends on if you got this F-15 as a trainer, and if you're now advanced a bit past it, or if you're still working to master this step. That would be what I would base my decision making on.

@BrianPhillipsRC3 жыл бұрын
Really? I've heard this before, but I never thought the F-16 was all that easy to fly, largely since I never could get the CG back far enough. We are re-reviewing it (with new AR631....fyi) and I hope to have advanced to a point where I can really show it better than before ;)
@aerospacematt91473 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Can't wait! I fly my T-Bird with a Gens Ace 3300 60C. I don't actually do much High Alpha with mine, but in terms of flying a pattern the Thunderbird just seems a little bit more locked in. Maybe it's the Ball links as opposed to clevisis on the F-15. The Eagle flies good, but the T-Bird just seems more comfortable to me. Have you flown the 64mm F-16? Now I WILL say that the 64mm F-16 is not as easy as the F-15.

This hobby is depressing me big time. I’m so inconsistent with landings on my EDFs and I’m contantly breaking things on my jets, particularly the nose of the jet from stalling it... there is no margin for error like you have with a prop plane. I’ve got so much money invested in these jets I feel like if I stop trying all of my efforts are down the drain and I become a quitter. The hobby would be more enjoyable if I just stayed with prop planes. Any suggestions?
@BrianPhillipsRC3 жыл бұрын
Get your CG back or you will be very frustrated. I used to have a lot more trouble, but when you get the CG back (almost tail heavy) you'll be better able to flare. Landing EDF jets is an art that is very tough, especially for newer pilots. Don't be discouraged...get better! It takes a lot of failure to find success on this. Practice makes perseverance (not PERFECTION - another lie of this world). You CAN do it...but if you're not ready, just relax, enjoy your prop planes and there's ZERO shame in working that out first. Get a tri-cycle plane and fly the wings off it....then keep working the system. Good luck - DON'T give up.
