OK,...we ALL know what will happen. Disney will "Blue Sky Painting" the HELL out of us and we will all be mesmerized at their ideas. Ten years later when it's all done we get disappointed that all budgets are massively slashed over the years and we only get HALF of what they promised. C'mon,....we WANT to be excited...but deep down in our hearts, we know it's true. Disney ALWAYS does this to us. They just don't have the money to build what they "say" they want to build. Disney just want's to excite the stockholders before Nelson Peltz returns to run against Iger again. Believe only HALF of what you see at D23.

I somewhat think it depends on how the universal park does. Universal is betting that Disney has underbuilt for the market for a long time. If they are right and epic universe ends up being effectively sold out for most of the year, Disney is going to push through with mostly everything. If epic universe his the brakes and universal has to offer more aggressive deals Disney may cancel some things but I think they still mostly build because they are so far behind on active expansion. Universal will be done their park next year and Disney will not have anything ready even announced for probably 3 years outside of maybe test track retheme.

Jeez,...Disney doesn't even have the money today to PROPERLY MAINTAIN the attractions they already have! The plan sounds great and concept sounds cool, but the final product remains up in the air to really judge. Been to all of D23’s since there exception in 2009 my advice is go In with low expectations even after the expo is over! we saw what happened with Epcot! And other projects ! But enjoy it as much as u can

Disney could win me and many other old school fans by brining back Horizons!!! 💡- I personally would tear out the motor cars 🚗 at the magic kingdom and replace it the an ALL-New Horizons in Tomorrowland! They could create an all new ride system, bring in all new state of the art technology, while still honoring the original but mind blowing 🤯 and still family friendly! It would be high capacity and a great way for people to get out of the heat, sit down and enjoy a fun ride. I miss 😢 Horizons so much’ was my favorite Epcot ride. Who else likes 👍 this idea for a change in the MK. Plus, add blue LED lighting on the outside of the people mover cars! That would add so much visibility and kinetic energy to Tomorrowland! It would help connect it connect the new Tron with the old Tomorrowland better. Thoughts on this idea anyone? 💡 Great Newscast Tom! 👍

Woo Hoo! For the 30th Anniversary of TOT!! One of my favorite rides! I was a cast member when this ride opened and remember riding it during the cast member previews, back when they only dropped you once! We would get off and run back in line to ride it again. I rode it 13 times in a row! Still have my cast member exclusive TOT lithograph they had for sale for cast members at the time.

Also they call it Disney experiences which means they won’t focus just on the parks but also cruises etc. we’ve fallen for this so many times where we get our hopes up based on nothing and nothing concrete is announced it’s just very generic what ifs and then a few new meet and greets. Fool me twice…

The last few D23 Parks panels have been awful, they have nothing to announce so come up with 'blue sky' concepts that might, or rather most likely won't happen so I'm not holding my breath for anything mind blowing this time either. Hey Tom, I may not be a fan of Abbott Elementary but the show is huge! I recall years ago at DCA they would have “ABC TV Festival” (or something like like) and the fans poured in to see the stars from the TV shows, especially the soap operas which were still going strong back then. I bet the Abbott panel will fill up very quickly. ANd I do like they have something for everyone.

Regarding the Tokyo Disney Resort Resort Line chartered train, the reason the July 27th to August 31st session is reccomended for elementary school students is because it is their summer break and they return to school in September. The school year begins in April and ends in March.

It’s weird cause I remember a few years ago Tom was VERY vocal about supporting the wdw castmembers striking for increased pay. I had hoped he and the team would have showed more ferocious outcry over the Das changes and the Disneyland actors union. I mean maybe they’re just busy since Tom’s in Japan and there’s a lot going on, but I don’t know I feel like serious stuff that negatively effects castmembers and physically disabled guests should take some priority.

Tom, how do they treat people with disabilities at the parks in Japan. I have heard they are not very welcoming to those in mobility scooters or wheelchairs. I saw a gentleman who was unable to get on any rides. Thank you for all your information.

True but you don’t know what the final product is going to be, the Epcot reimagining finally completed but it was budget cut so bad it turned out completely different, Tiana in magic kingdom is another example of where budget cuts took over and it could have been much much better and everyone has been burned by Disney budget cuts too many times recently

@@adamp2384 “ we shouldn’t have to” we should when we know the companys history Disney deliberately makes their concept as imaginative as possible so they can determine what they like best and build those parts, part of the reason Disney concept is called blue sky is because the sky is the limit regarding concept art and they can let their imagination go wild without the constraints of real world practicality’s like budget, space and feasibility, those three factors have always limited the practical implementation of attractions in Disney parks, this has been the case since the beginning, look at torrowland pre 1959, or look at the concept of classic attractions, there are amazing ideas that never were implemented for haunted mansion, pirates, small world, the classic Epcot lands etc, all would have been amazing all proved to expensive, to big or to impractical, entire lands have been dreamed up and shelved or scaled down because they would have been money pits, didn’t garner enough interest/ support, affected budgets elsewhere, or just were to unfeasible. It would be nice if everything Disney dreamed up became reality but that has never been the case, the reason people notice and complain is because Disney isn’t as creative about making the most out of what they can build as they have previously been, the trick to Disney’s success is that they are creative as possible within the practical limits of what they can build, they haven’t been lately and that is worth calling them out on but we also need to recognize that not everything Disney shows in blue sky is feasible, Disney is constantly trying to balance creativity versus practicality, after nearly going bankrupt several times because of trying to figure out that balance it’s understandable there’d be cautious with newer stuff, the problem right now is creativity. Universal meticulously planned epic universe and built their finances and they don’t have a culture of trying to majorly expand their parks every few years like Disney they are in a better financial position to live up to their concept art than Disney is. We should expect greatness from Disney yes but we should be realistic in our expectations.

@@adamp2384 “we shouldn’t have to accept that” not if they’re being deliberately lazy, but we should if they’re being limited by practical limitations, budget, feasibility and space are the main limiting factors that shape how an attraction or land is developed from blue sky, blue sky is deliberately unrealistic in what it shows to encourage unbridled imagination from the imagineers because the sky is the limit on paper, hence blue sky. Those ideas get changed or adjusted when confronted with feasibility. Every classic ride and land has awesome ideas that were scrapped or downscaled, entire lands and attractions are scrapped if judged impractical, it’s a by product of Disney’s original business strategy , balancing creativity with practicality, art with business. The secret to Disney’s success historically is that they were as creative as possible within practical limitations. The issue recently is that Disney has been to practical and not creative enough. Fans should demand greatnesses but they also need to be realistic in their expectations. Universal didn’t go wild with the epic universe concept like Disney would have hence their attractions are more feasible
