Horizons Scarf Crochet Pattern

The Horizons Scarf crochet pattern is a very easy scarf to work. It is a simple one row repeat. The beauty of the design is in the texture and seemingly random stripes! The Horizons Scarf is worked in rows side to side. So you will work from end to end. The beauty of this is that you can make your scarf as long as needed. The stitch pattern used is a textured chevron pattern which is a lovely one row repeat.

Skill Level: Easy
Gauge: 24 sts x 16 rows of sc in the blo = 4 inches
Finished Size: Approximately 4.5 x 57 inches.
Yarn: Summerlite DK by Rowan® (142 yds/130 m; 50g; 100% cotton; (Light DK weight). You will need 4 colours: 1 ball Sailor Blue 470 (Colour A), 1 Ball Seashell 466 (Colour B), 1 ball Cantaloupe 456 (Colour C), 1 ball Plaster 452
Hook: Size E/4 (3.5 mm) hook.
Notions: Yarn Needle

Hello. I have avoided this absolutely simple pattern because of disaster stories. I finally decided to try. Here I am in a disaster story. What am I missing? I researched and completely understand the concept of a zig zag chevron etc. I looked at the written pattern as well. Here is the thing. In one end of THD pattern we are working 5 st And in the other we are working 6 st? It’s not balanced. I completely get we need. Peak. And a peak Is obtained by increasing the st in one or DOING A sC ch sc or even doing a decrease. The trough the bottom we skip 2 stitches. Same as if we do a decrease. So I get. Wjat I don’t understand is why have I pulled this out 10 times at r 3. At row 3. The street counts becomes. One short. At the end of the row we SC 4. 2 tog Turn start the next row. It begins the same. Here is we’re you are going to Loose a st. I don’t understand. If we have 6 st. And we SC 4. And 2 tog. That’s 5. Start the next t row with 5. Repeat. Now that’s 4. It must be 4 ? So what am I missing. Please explain anyone. I hope I make sense. Thank. Frustrated beyond

Hello. One question please. I’m Wondering if each row at the end 4 SC and then 2 tog. Which is a decrease…? Isn’t the row going to run out. I’m a little co fused. I’ll repeat 2. Up to row 8. So I’ll end with 4. Sc on 4. The 2tog ? I hope my question makes sense. I’m going to check for a increase at beginning. Otherwise. I’m missing something hear Thanks. Anyone who can answer.
