Have a look at Dr. Eric Berg's videos on nutrition, weight loss and general health. You might find them helpful. I have been heeding his advice for months and find it effortless to maintain 112lbs. The sourcing of healthy food and the changes in recipes takes a little effort initially, but I have found that it has been so worthwhile.

Thank you ladies, nice to see women supporting women. It’s so interesting, scary really, how one study (WHI) mis-informed and mis-directed so many Dr’s in supporting women regarding the use of HRT. In addition to what was shared, diet & lifestyle as in whole foods, fiber, antioxidants and healthy fats along with daily exercise and meditation is in my opinion the foundation of any health and healing program. May all women feel empowered with answers and support through mid-life and connect more deeply to their inner wisdom. Blessings ~

Vaginal atrophy is so bad. Had UTI symptoms from the start of the menopause but kept being told urine dip test was clear. It wasn’t until I saw a consultant after a scan, she asked if I was having those symptoms and put me on Vagifem. It really changed my quality of life. Unfortunately due to costs, this has now been changed to a generic pessary so I hope this works just as well. Good luck to all women suffering with menopausal symptoms.

There are wayyyy more symptoms than the usual. Some women have "hell" menopause. Hormone imbalance can cause thyroid issues, auto-immune issues, depression, horrible/debilitating anxiety and hellacious insominia. It doesn't stop there! Some of us have gastroperesis, vagus nerve problems and the list goes on. I am really very tired of these doctors marginalizing pre, current and post menopause. All they want to do is stay "safe" and prescribe anti-depressants. Here is some advice. Eat an anti-inflammatory diet, you can google that. Stay away from any and all chemicals for your body care, cleaning supplies, clothing. The honest truth of it is, every woman has their own body chemistry and look at it like a roller coaster. You have the kiddy roller coaster, a nice and even decline in estrogen that some may not even notice or at the very least they may have some hot flashes and mood swings but then there is the big girl roller coaster and that roller coaster has very high rises and very low lows and they happen at the drop of a hat depending on your own body. These are the women who are living the "hell" menopause and there needs to be more doctors educated about that. I am not obese and I never had any problems with my hormones until I hit the age of 52 and then I went down the first high and low dip. Estrogen does not protect the heart, progesterone protects the heart, do some real research on it. Taking a good quality progesterone in the form of transdermal cream will balance the estrogen and stimulate the estrogen while also giving you the progesterone you need. Estrogen is a big sell and that is all it is. Most women who experience bad perimenopause symptoms have estrogen dominance and estrogen is the very last thing they need. If you listen to western medicine doctors you will be on every "big" sell medication they can throw at you. Please ladies, do your research and you will learn the truth. What does "large population measurments" mean? It means, the standard dose that the general population of women should take but that is NOT for everyone, these days with all of the plastics, pollution, chemicals in our food, the real fact is, our estrogen is and has been elevated due to these things.

@ Suzie G That’s a wrong assumption. When prescribed the correct dose of HRT (estrogen combined with progesteron), your fibroid will not grow. The only consequence of taking HRT in females with fibroids is, that the fibroids will not shrink opposed to those females not taking HRT, but the fibroids won’t grow either!

I have a bit of a problem with this info. You see, the official powers that be also told us to eat according to the food pyramid. Which made everyone fatter than ever before in history. Now you recommend us taking these artificial hormones. Theres a huge difference between artificial estrogen and progesterone compared to natural varieties! But that won’t make money, so none of your studies looked at it. Im very sceptical of a doctor promoting SSRIs for menopause as a regular treatment. My mum is 86, healthy and didn’t take any artificial hormone replacement. I guess all you doctors will tell us eating low fat high carb will ‘help’ on top of all these symptom pills. This is so sad.

I absolutely agree! I don't agree with SSRI's as a treatment for anything, I had an adverse reaction to one in 2013... never again! They prescribe SSRI''s because they increase estrogen levels.

Sorry ladies but this feels like yet another waste of time. After watching for a half an hour the third woman who obviously has not been through menopause does the classic projection that hot flashes are pretty much just in your head and you can just live with them. Yeah I get back to us in 20 years I bet you’ll feel very differently. So sad we can’t even get good help from women. don’t waste your time here the information is cliché.

I could only get through the fist 12 minutes of this. You speak of menopause as though it is a "medical problem", it generally isn't. It is a natural part of aging, advice about how to simply treat symptoms, without medical interventions, surgeries and hormones is necessary, there is not enough information. Normalising hysterectomies while pathologizing menopause is backward thinking which only serves the financial and other sectors of the "medical industry" while using women's bodies, again, as subjects for experimentation.
@haylslouise8428
@haylslouise8428 Жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree with you! I do wanna say though, going through menopause earlier than you're supposed to is not natural. Natural menopause happens when your eggs are depleted, so ovulation no longer occurs and that triggers a decline in estrogen, that's how it's supposed to happen. I'm 28 and going through it, and it's absolute hell! :(

The doctor put me on estrogen for 10yrs, then the doctors Said there was risk? I felt great cause I was sleeping and my vaginal was not as dry, but hot flashes were still bad at night. But without estrogen I had to take zopoclone to sleep. During my 40 s I had a strong set drive, Which was fabulous but without estrogen the vaginally became very dry. I am post menopausal and feel better but I have to use a sleep aid. I agree... I'm also peri & it's impacting every day life & I'm completely alone & overwhelmed right now. Last year I had to go see a doctor bc things were so bad & she just continued to tell me I'm to young & just wouldn't hear anything I was saying, I was in tears, having several hot flushes that the nurse could physically see happening she said are you having one right now you've got sweat beading all over you & she was trying to take my blood pressure and my heart rate was crazy. So I left in tears & felt even worse than when I arrived. Three days later the nurse called said my TSH Level was really high so I was also dealing with hypothyroidism & that the doctor wanted more blood work. Without insurance all the blood work was going to be around 800.00 she said bc they were hormone test they would be very expensive so I was unable to have them done. When I asked her so what now what can I do she just said until I have all 8-9 of these test the doctor wouldn't be able to do anything for me. These issues are making my life & my family's life so hard. Idk if the thyroid issue I'm having is part of perimenopause or something completely wrong all by itself, I'm reading it is connected bc it's also another hormone. Without insurance I don't have any other options so I've tried changing my diet & things I can but not any better at all. I really feel like I'm losing my mind. I'm very interested in your channel. I NEED all the help I can get! I hope your doing better since your comment. Best wishes!

Just some thoughts my mother who had 9 children who was Slovak descendant and my mother -in-law who was Mexican who had 11 children both told me they had no hot flashes or felt no menopause both died in there 80's.I wonder if menopause would start earlier for a girl who has a period at 10 than as to on who starts at 17.Had hysterectomy at 40 cervical cancer could not take estrogen because gave me horrible restless legs .Do you think our bodies are just made to have a lot of children.
@haylslouise8428
@haylslouise8428 Жыл бұрын
This is very interesting and I actually believe it. The earlier a girl starts her period, the earlier she'll go through menopause, because eggs are starting to be released earlier, so they'll be depleted earlier. And I always wondered if not having babies by a certain age accelerates the decline in estrogen leading to menopause too, because it makes sense. Also, my mum, aunt and grandmothers on both my mum and dads side didn't experience any menopausal symptoms, I asked them and the only sign they said they had was their periods stopping. Our bodies are designed for reproduction, really it's our bodies main purpose of existence, so I really do believe that having babies is necessary for reproductive health and preservation, and not having them speeds up the transition to menopause, and as a result, earlier death.

I had very mild hot flashes at 5 a.m. Occasionally. My vagina gets wet. The problem is, it got narrow. So I can't have sex. Had I known this, I would have had more sex to prevent it. But unfortunately, they call this "vaginal atrophy," which made it impossible for me to learn about it in advance. Who would google "vaginal atrophy?" And I'm unwilling to use unnatural things. I'm depressed not because of my hormones but because of what menopause represents. Less life to live. And listening to all these symptoms is so depressing. Lack of exercise and poor diet causes fat weight gain, loss of muscle mass and dementia.

I was surprised too at no mention of coloured people yet coloured people are often the first to have trials done on them, sadly often without consent. Anyway, that aside, the rest of the content here is very informative. From what I have heard, women of African descent have similar symptoms and I have heard of many who use the remedies suggested by these doctors and others who only use supplements plus others who choose to take nothing. It's about preference and how severe and how long your symptoms last.

Insomnia doesn't have one single cause, so you can't go by insomnia alone to say you're going through the menopause. 33 is too early, any age before 40 is early and it's not normal. I'm 28 and I've been going through it for a year, so I was 27 when I entered perimenopause. :(

Hypothyroid symptoms include weight gain, severe fatigue, weakness, slowed thinking, confusion, trouble concentrating, sensitivity to cold, depression, paranoia, hearing loss, dry skin, coarse hair, and hair loss. People with hypothyroidism need to take thyroid hormone replacement for the rest of their lives Skin that is flaky, red, scaly, oozing, itchy, thickened, and sometimes blistered or painful Treatment may include one or more of these: Keeping the skin moisturized Avoiding too much time in water Avoiding triggers Topical or oral corticosteroids Antihistamines Antibiotics (for infection) Immunosuppressant drugs Ultraviolet light therapy The most common symptoms of migraine include a dull or severe headache that may be worse on one side of the head, and a throbbing, pulsating, or pounding in the head. Other symptoms may include loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, sensitivity to sound or light, chills, sweating, numbness or tingling, and increased urination. Some migraines can be treated at home with over-the-counter pain relievers. Severe migraines are usually treated with prescription medicines called triptans, anti-nausea medicine, or sedatives. Pain-relieving medications usually work best when taken at the first sign of a migraine. Frequent migraines can sometimes be prevented by taking medications such as beta-blockers, antidepressants, antiseizure drugs, or by getting a Botox injection in the muscles of the forehead and neck. When a headache strikes, most of us head for the medicine cabinet or local pharmacy and take an over-the-counter pain pill such as acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, or pain-relieving drugs with caffeine. But when you don’t follow the instructions on the bottle or from your doctor, these medicines could give you a rebound headache. Many common pain relievers, when you take them in large enough amounts, can cause rebound headaches. These include: Aspirin Sinus relief medications Acetaminophen Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen and naproxen Sedatives for sleep Codeine and prescription narcotics Triptan drugs for migraine, such as naratriptan (Amerge), sumatriptan (Imitrex), zolmitriptan (Zomig), and others Over-the-counter combination headache remedies that have caffeine (such as Anacin, Bayer Select, Excedrin) Ergotamine medications (such as Bellergal-S, Bel-Phen-Ergot S, Cafatine PB, Cafergot, Ercaf, Ergomar, Migergot, Phenerbel-S, Wigraine) Butalbital combination pain relievers (fioricet, fiorinal, Supac)

It's what you don't do, not what treatment you take. Cutting out sugar, cutting down on dairy, eating less meat, avoiding endocrine (hormone) disrupting chemicals. And exercise helps. Then if all that doesn't work and your symptoms are intolerable only then should you consider medical treatment. Medical treatments are risky. Thinking that menopause makes us bitchy is testimony to how willing women are to blame themselves and how brain washed they are in doing so.

Even if I find someone's views upsetting, or disagree with them, there's always a chance I may find something, in what they say, useful. But it just made me more and more depressed. Not because of hormonal issues but because of the fact that Menopause represents the reality of aging and we associate aging with all sorts of afflictions and infirmities.I felt like this channel was patronizing and presented the issues some people have of menopause as inevitabilites. Eventually I gave up and did watch something else: Dr.Popper, whose dietary advice made me feel hopeful about aging, and two physio therapists (Jeff and Bob) helped correct the joint pain that I'd mistakenly attributed to menopause.

The life cycle itself is the road to death unless you believe in 'superpowers'. So, in other words, we all are 'sentenced to death' and set to go through physical decline in a process, no matter how many tricks medicine and science come up with. But for women, the process of aging is the most brutal. It's almost like we intentionally are used and thrown away as disposables after reproductive work is done. We are left to this misery and to deal with suffering instead of well deserved rest during older years.

The second speaker has no idea how my biological dr helped me. Guess what no saliva test several several blood tests several types of tests this was not a game this was a legitimate doctor and giving me only estrogen that I needed I had a lot of one but not a lot of two and very little three of the three estrogen‘s so you might want to double check your data because without the bio identical doctor my life was hell.

How are mares and their offspring treated in the production of Premarin? Has the process improved for them - wherever Premarin is manufactured (country)?

I don’t understand why this is NEVER ADDRESSED. An animal shouldn’t have to suffer so that I don’t. I wish I had known how they do suffer before I used Premarin. I think it’s important to know all of the facts!

I am a slim woman , weighed 46 kg when I had severe menopausal symptoms so I find it difficult to accept that “ bigger women have more or serious symptoms. It has been 9 years and the symptoms have not dissipate d. I was forced to embark on HRT as natural remedies didn’t work. Whenever I stopped the the HRT treatment the symptoms reappear with a vengeance.
