I've two B12s. One in LNER green and the other in BR black. The black suits it so much. One of the best models in Hornby's range. Although I do miss the sandpaper chuff of the old one I had growing up!

Remember this model was done as a train set from hornby as the East Anglian in the striking great eastern blue livery, very nice runners and their is one preserved at the North Norfolk railway. Thanks Jen and good luck for 2021.

One of the few locos I've managed to get on the footplate of! Lovely things the B12's, though I do prefer their smaller sisters the D16's. Cracking model, I need to get my hands on one really...

The coal load does lever out. I put an adhesive lead weight in mine as the tender is only 50g. No such problems with the loco as the boiler is die-cast zinc alloy and has good weight. The joint is underneath and lines up well. I've found the motor is a smooth runner being large and having twin flywheels.

B12s never carried BR Lined Green livery, but LNER Green really does suit them. Nice video, as always, Jenny.

A great review as always Jenny and they are such an attractive model and I would love one with the later tender logo, I remember 61572 visiting the ELR and yes they do have an elegance about them🙂

Started watching your videos weeks ago and I really love how you explain all the engines of these model that captures the real deal of the real life counterparts. One question will hornby ever make a K2 Larger Seagulls because they were good engines since they were all scraped?

Hello Jennifer and Zoe. Last week on your Monday live show, Zoe mentioned she likes hockey. I posted on the chat that I have a Hockey train set and Zoe said she would love to see it. I’ve made a video of the set on my channel. I don’t guarantee it’s a great video, but if you watch I hope you enjoy seeing the set!

FYI London Tilbury and Southend Railway was always part of the LMS, not part of the LNER where it logically fitted. And as far as being successful went Gresley built B17's to replace them. And the B17's were scrapped before the B12's as the B12's were a generally more useful and reliable loco.

This one, R3545, is £79. R3546 in BR black early emblem is £99 and R3544 in LNER apple green is £149 at the moment @ Hattons.

Nice review of a great model. These locomotives only ever appeared in black livery in BR days

I think maybe some of them wore BR blue, but I could be mistaken. I’m just saying that because of the Hornby livery.

I have a small collection of B12s in Green, Black and Blue. I am awaiting some spares to finish off two of my models. Jenny, I did notice if, you use the close coupling option, the drawbar looks like it would be very close to the wires in the white plug or is there a slight difference in the height? Martin. (Thailand) (There is a very nice space between the wording on the tender and I would be tempted to fill that space with the early totem.)Take care both of you.

All metal chassis and boiler, -- metal! - very fine detailing, smooth 5-pole motor with two flywheels, an incredible value at 140 GBP. Looks great in green, Hornby R3544...

Indeed Zoey and Larry, to give a bit more information, the timeline of British railways logos is the plain lettering (this locomotive) in 1948, as a quick way to change the branding on trains when the logo hadnt been decided, than the early logo (lion crest) until 1956, and after that the later logo (Ferret and Dartboard) until 1965.
