Thank you Ron. As a new member of HRCA it is a real pleasure to have the benefit of your experience and knowledge. As a lifelong O gauger here in Alberta Canada it has been wonderful to stretch my interest into the hobby through Hornby O Gauge and then through that into Dublo 3-rail. It is very reassuring to see that some of my "Big" O gauge skills are directly transferable in a reduced form to Dublo engines and tenders. Your videos are just the right blend of technical talk and pragmatic approach. Fantastic to have access to this resource you have provided!

Hi Ron. Returning to Hornby Dublo after nearly 60 years, so it's great to see someone who knows so much about the hobby. I find your videos extremely helpful and it's great to see that 3 Rail still lives on. I agree with Pecker Wood about your videos having the right blend of technical talk and pragmatic approach. As a retired Engineer i find them really engaging. A great resource. Thank you Ron.

Just got a Duchess off ebay and your guide was excellent method to follow as it had been very much over oiled - Thanks!

Another excellent guide - avoids over lubrication by amateurs who assume unlimited oil solves all problems !

If I may make one suggestion, a small container for any items removed, like nuts, screws, bogies, etc, can save a lot of grief by preventing them from falling on the floor!

Returning to Hornby Dublo after thirty years, I find your videos remarkably helpful. Is a complete list of them published anywhere? Thank you!

Hi Ron, Have you used Inox MX3 as both a rail cleaner and loco lube? While counter intuitive, I have been and the stuff works wonders (although I am still unsure of the Inox as loco lube and maybe a normal light machine oil is better?) But having said that, no issues at all with Inox (I mainly use Inox as have it on hand and is excellent for maintaining slot car track...). Interested in your thoughts.

I'm not familiar with MX3, some oils are advertised as safe with plastic though I have personally not noticed adverse effects from a good quality light oil such as sewing machine oil or oils from hobby shops that come in a very fine dispenser.

Hi Ron, I have a Wrenn 4MT which essentially is the same mechanism as this one. Ever since I had it, it grinds away and does not sound nice and smooth like yours here. I have done a full strip down and once the brushes are out I can turn the armature by turning the wheels so I know its all free running.I adjust the top bearing to just allow a fraction of up down movement. Put her all back together and still she grinds :( back in 2004 I fitted a neo magnet, took that out having recharged the original, no great difference in noise but she it gutless and can be stalled with a big train. Put the neo back and solved that (150mA) but this grinding gets to me. Any ideas as to what I can do please? Would you like to see and hear a video of her?
