Continued Development of the new Monsville Hornby Dublo Shelf Layout Model Railway.
Trains include:
Hornby Dublo 0-6-0 Tank Good Set 2006
Hornby Dublo Class N2 Tank 1217
Hornby Dublo Catalogues
Layout Cost Breakdown
Timber/Brackets/Screws
$233.63
Liquid Nails/Cork Gun
$14.95
Shelf Unit
$149.00
Drawer Unit
$39.00
LED Light Strip
$29.50
Total
$466.08Au
£233.04GB
All of the track is second hand.
Most of the Buildings were damaged when I got them and repaired for the layout. This means that they were very cheap to buy or free at Model Train Open Days. If you are prepared to fix or modify Track Side items, then the cost often is more about your own time rather than money.
Paint and Glue were purchased from Hardware stores rather than Hobby Shops. This reduces the expense greatly.
You can still do a lot on a small budget in the Hobby.
Materials
PVA Glue
Frenchville Artificial Moss
Woodland Scenics Fine Turf (3 x Colours)
This Layout was presentable and functional in only two weeks. This video is adding detail.

@monsvillerailways5736 I will share it when I've finished it. I don't think it will fit on my layout that I'm building, and Dylan is only having things on his that he has built. So maybe it will go on a diorama eventually. Right off to bed now 😴 😁👍

Another big step, this really packed some good punches in progress. When the smaller details start to go in, it really makes all the big stuff pop. Bridges and sidings look great. Well done again!

@@ModelTrainOutsider Thanks Anthony. The detailing is the slower part. Having said that, the Spillway Bridge turned out quite well with subtle rust hints and the first attempt at adding surfacing looks surprisingly good too. Thanks for watching and commenting. Always appreciated 👍

@@ModelRailwayShed Thanks Deano. Being squashed in between the Garage Project Layout and the wall means that the reduced space restricts the use of the Gimbal. It may be better on other layouts where you can set a train running so are less focussed on othet things. Thanks for watching and commenting. Always appreciated 👍

I find my gimbal handy for outside or an area big enough for free motion. Seldom do I use it on the layout. But I can't say I haven't. It still has features I haven't attacked yet. Updated work looking smart. 🚂🙋

@@4everdc302 Thank you. That is interesting feedback about the Gimbal. 👍 I was thinking that it may be useful for the other layouts, but because the Shelf Layout has such reduced space it really has limited use here. Thanks for watching and commenting. Always appreciated 👍
