It's amazing that a ready-to-run model of Locomotion is available. Buy it soon: it will disappear from the catalogue as soon as the returns with broken motion work start to escalate! I would like a model of it in original form, without the Hackworth plug wheels.

Great video Andy the new Locomotion N01 looks lovely I hope it is not long before they bring out a sou d file for it.Talking of which the sound file for Lion/ Tiger are great...I thing the animal sound are to go with the animal wagons cows🐄 sheep🐑 and horses 🐎 😂 Also I think the shunting mode allows the engine/trsin to move up ro allow for uncoupling and the Creep mode is pressed then using the throttle to move engine /train to very slowly couple up.Hope it helps.😊

I too love the new sounds included like the Bagpipes for Scotsman and bell that I find then forget where it is in USA Tour Peglar 68 period version. I just like the thought of these animals in the fields as it passes by and as in The Yorkshire Dales 👍

Hi Damian, That’s very interesting and something that I was completely unaware of. I back ordered some time ago as a club member, yet had no idea there was another era 11 version. It certainly never appeared on my website searches at all. Then again I wouldn’t type in Era11. Were you aware of the differences too between the two models pointed out here? Andy.

Bought my first model railway mag in 1963 and have never understood the whinging railway modeller nothing is ever good enough always rivet counting ,remember the Triang steel ,sparking wheels ,the distorting plastic,the crap steel track , 10 years ago you would never see anything like this,never ever happy,nobody can remember this loco ,my only small complaint would be a dirty working version ,bravo for doing what I think will become a much sought after loco..

@@francisdelez6421 Hello Francis, Thanks for the insight and recollection. It’s always good to hear a like for like comparison. Not sure if you feel I’m being harsh here too but, would have ended up with Era1, as a paying ‘Club Member’ had I not seen the Era11 version, that I had no idea was being produced. I did actually feel club members should have been offered the Era11 version with additional bell and Nameplate’s, for their loyal support but, left that out as it’s more personal choice. The 2024 catalogue does state a Bell was added in 1883 but, is all easily missed on a single website picture. The Lion review I initially made just after launch. I held it back until now due to the issues as stated over the chimney stack having been set in place completely off square. Did not include any obviously and potentially damaging square on pictures of Lion before I re-set the stack back true but, showed a very quick splash of one less so. Despite this and a threaded screw on the decoder keep plate, not mentioned I gave it a 9/10 rating and have now back ordered the Era11 version but, won’t be renewing Club Membership unfortunately. I adore Hornby and Lion, The Steam Generator models and the HMDCC app. I’m sure Locomotion will be even better and as you rightly say, not even possible a decade ago 👍

My Locomotion has been on back order since Era 1!. So who knows which one Hornby will send me!

@@clivegeary4587 Hello Clive, That made me 😆. There seems to be an amazing DCC ideas and innovations cargo ship, being held back by a DC way of thinking and belief that 30 somethings may just prefer an iPhone Era 6 after seeing Era 16. Have you got any Era 1?

@@modeloco I purchased the Rocket in the Triang commemorative pack with the 3 coaches. I also got two open 3rd coaches and the mail coach. These are the first model trains that I have brought in about 30 years! I'm thinking about getting some Accurascale chaldron wagons to go with Locomotion.

In a follow up to my rather short reply but, having had to look into this with a matter of urgency, due to the legalese 'might be advisable' shock, horror 'de de de de, de de de da'... bit lol. Had I been handed, gifted, sold cheap or been given favourable discounts, perks or models, etc ahead of release dates in order to secure an advantage over others, or reward, even stuff like tickets, VIP entry to events, etc then appreciate, as a modelling consumer & not an influencer, that this would be a planned agreement & not just a random set of events, as for instance, when Simon Kohler kindly sent me a 'Next 18' Decoder ahead of release because I'd had considerable expense & misfortune trying to get my TT:120 Flying Scotsman running in analogue mode so, apart from these sorts of events, why its included & rightly so. Are you getting interested in OO then Greg & when we doing this interview?
