Same. As a kid I once jumped off a moving lawn tractor because a bee flew by my head. Now when one flies into the toll booth I'm working in I gently encourage it to leave, no flailing or screaming lmao

@@JoeyBaby47 Typical "crowd think" opinion. If you get attacked, yes it sucks. I have gotten unexpectedly swarmed by yellowjackets while doing yardwork, but other than that they don't offend me. They are among natures best methods of predatory pest control in the insect world, doing there own version of what the mountain lions, bears and predators of the mammal world do.

that enclosure is dope, you should do a live stream of it. literally just setup a camera and let the internet do the rest. You would probably get a decent amount of exposure. also will the hornets end up reinforcing the hotglue? I cant see that lasting too long, idk tho.

This is a GREAT channel and is one of my favorites! I have a bird feeder hanging from a tree that is now dead. I can't fill it with birdseed anymore because wasps (I think) have taken it over. They go in at the bottom of the feeder where the birds would perch. I can see the small nest they're building at the top through the plastic sides. I have to remove this old feeder because we need to get rid of the dead tree. That will be a fun day for me and I hope I don't get stung! Wish me luck!

I've never been stung by a European hornet... We call them "News Carriers." They hover near you and just 'watch.' Don't know why. But we always said that they watch what goes on in an area, and then take the news back to the nest and report it! LOL I was working on my car one day, and I had a big European Hornet, hovering a couple of feet from the hood of my car... After a couple of minutes, of hearing that BZZZZZZZZZ, in my ear, I looked up at the bee and said, "If you're just gonna sit there and watch, be helpful and pass me the wrench over there!" It decided at that moment, to go buzzing away... "Was it something I said!?"

Got a new appreciation for bald faced hornets the other day. I had left a bag of dog poo out & the flies were loving it. Next thing I know I see this larger dark flying object swoop in & grab one then take off. The second time this happened I got a better look at what it was and it was a bald faced hornet attacking flies & taking them away. This goes to show how beneficial these insects are. I almost wish I had a nest of them in our yard. Almost. ;)

Great as always. Question: i often see you holding your phone with the light on to act as a work light... Have you considered attaching a thin, small, light, led flashlight to your vacuum nosle? Velco, vent clamps, zip ties... Etc. I know you often hold the phone anyways for video, just wondering.

You outdid your self on this video with the box and see see thru pannels. I think you gave us a great view on how they build envelope which is great. Im still hopeing the next video you make adds some info on the red wasps on it :)

Awesome!!!! I totally enjoy seeing all the effort you put into each of these clips and learning about these hornets you deal with each day. I can only imagine that these insects make your heart race when trying to grab the nests. I totally look forward to that video of the red wasps :)

I'm so glad I found this channel. I've always been fascinated by wasps, but obviously observing them up close is... difficult. Also, if you have the time, a question unrelated to this video: where did you get your cat?

Very interesting. So the live wasps that you have in the vacuum cleaner, do they return to the nest you relocated?

I definitely misread the title as Relocating EUROPEAN HORNETS Inside My Brain! I’m glad you haven’t decided to fill your skull with insects.

I noticed with the Yellow Jacket nest you removed by the patio door there did not seem to be much envelop mainly just a fair sized comb and I noticed when you showed us that the wasp where acting the same they where putting more effort into making comb then they where envelope is this normal ? or did the colony step it up and go into high gear making envelope after this ? I have learned so much about wasp behaviour since i started watching your channel thank you so much .
