I had a 600 cfm air compressor I used with an air lance for exposing fiber optic lines. Amazing how fast it was to expose a length of it. Worked well with other utilities. Had to be careful with direct bury phone cable. Air lance could cut it.

Ithaca New York yesterday, ~30 miles north of the Pennsylvania/New York border, some places in the area got a little over 15 inches of heavy snow, trees are down in odd spots. Did I mention it's the middle of April? Many contractors got an unexpected last plow job of the season. Unbelievable! ⚠

Yep, had 17" total in the yard, heavy yet crap. Blower hated it. Power was out 30 hours. Today most of it has melted down to about 4-6" left.

Yeah it cooled off here in Central Florida to... only in the low 80’s. Last week it was low 90’s and 70 dew point. I really feel for you northern guys we dropped to like 35° in January and I don’t know how you deal with 6 months of that.

It's interesting to see the different construction process around the country in upstate New York in the watershed for New York City. You have to leave the stumps, cut them flush to the ground in the leachfield.

I just commented pretty much the same on Dirt Boss’s channel this week. I can’t imagine leaving trees or stumps anywhere in a drain field. We have to take everything out of the area. Like you say, interesting

I did some work in the telephone company business with cable but I did know people that were splicing fiber optics and you don't want to hit that because it does cost a lot of money to have it put back together, splices can make 5 to $10,000 a day no problem if they're a private contractor and they do it right like my stepfather did

Frontier hung fiber all over the state here, BUT in some places they figured it didn't need to be that far up because it was only the access road to a field. Took a week for a grain truck to tear down the first one! A week later a farmer snagged one with a combine chute. They then spent time going to farms fields and raising them on the subcontractors dime because of it.

Was a big glulam arch that killed my BIL back in 1990. He was working on a church and the crew left over the weekend, came back Mon after a high wind weekend. his boss was setting another arch that got free and the rest went down like dominos. The BIL ran but didn't make it. The arch drove his skull through two 3/4" layers of plywood!.

Chris had a huge container, square one, in a steel cage, about 3feet by 3feer, by 3feet where all the used oil is stored in his shed, where the farm tractor, and some of the earthworks equipment is stored, until it is picked up by a company.

That tree got sick-a-bit-more with your help. Otherwise, what you have done looks good. Glad it wasn't muddy, although, you do like playing in Mudd. That stringy hard-wood beats catgut which is also used as strings for violins. Something I used to use when I played the violin back in the '50s. Now, I play with something a little bit hotter, I make hot sauce. It's got some peppers that you might recognize and some that you might not. Starting with 500 Thai; 225 Ghost; 425 Habanero; 450 Jalapeno; 400 Serrano; 300 Cheyenne; 250 Carolina Reaper; and 250 Jamaican Scorpion. For giggles and grins, I don't cook it and yes it has a © of 1997 on it and the powder as well.

Sometimes these developments are so delayed in approval and the utilities get done first , the clearing should be done first but some unlucky operators get to rip out services with tree roots.

At that time they has pretty much zero value. My brother owned a window company with a contract to install new windows in a 2,500 housing project and in one day lost it all in 2008. He got stuck with 300 window sets for that many houses he'd already taken delivery on and paid for. He got lucky as he had job completion insurance on the contract and got paid. The insurance company took possession then ended up giving them back to for pennies on the dollar sign they wouldn't have to pay to dispose of them. My brother had a friend with several acres empty so he bought several containers that were sold cheap and stored them till the market came back plus used about a third of the to do upgrades on houses being remodeled. That way he was able to keep his core employees working.

Chris has mentioned....a couple of times....that he has indeed considered a chipper. The economics rarely work on his jobs. What Chris needs is someone who wants to do that for him...for the product. i keep wondering if a properly scaled and outfitted company could turn a profit doing just that.

In this specific case, it went to a site that accepts brush. On other big jobs, where there is space to do so, Chris burns most of the cleared tree material. Chris have commented maybe on average very nearly every single clearing video that it is alway more costly, as well as slower to mulch up, plus the mulching equipment is very expensive to maintain.
