I contend Lord Horation Nelson counts as a stupid death. "How'd you die?" "I was shot by a French musketeer." "Ha Ha haaa hmmm. All things considered, bit of an occupational hazard, there was a war on, correct?" "Correct." "Um . . honestly, can't see that a stupid death." "It was on a ship!" "Ahhh-- I'm listening." "And I knew before the battle the French put musketeers in their ship masts to shoot at targets." "You knew they did that, getting better." "And we often did that ourselves of course, musketeers in the masts." "Well yes, I would think so. Sauce for the gander, after all." "Except I ordered nobody on our side do that." "Oh my, bit of an own goal that." "And then I appeared on my ship, in my sharp uniform, so everybody knew I was there--" "Including the French." "Including the French, one of whom shot me dead!" "WA HA HA HA HA HA! Oh my Lord, Lordy lordy lordy, not exactly thinking ahead there, Lord!' "In retrospect, no. So--am I in?" "Oh my yes, that way to the afterlife!"
@Apollo890
@Apollo890 Жыл бұрын
Not really the reason he did not allow his men to fire from the fighting top is due to the risk of the sails catching fire from the spark of the musket flintlocks. Normally this wasn't a problem as usually battles were static and the sails mostly furled. But Nelson like to keep the battle mobile. And he was only wearing his smart uniform in battle because all his baggage was stored below whilst he was briefing his captain's so there was no time to change.

Tell me about your death, the stupider, the better!” “Well, I was renowned for my discoveries in radioactivity as well as two radioactive elements, polonium and radium, which I’ve won two Nobel Prizes for.” “Ooh, wait, let me guess. Cause of death related to your research, no?” “Well, yes. I was also a radiologist during the First World War, and at the time, the dangers of radiation weren’t well known.” “Ooh, this is gonna be good. And?” “Well, while I was visiting my country Poland in 1934, I got aplastic anemia from radiation exposure, which killed me. “BAHAHAHAHA, oh, from start to finish I was loving that! Hahahaha! Ooh, I guess you can say that Curie-osity indeed killed something! Not a cat, but you! GAHAHAHAHA! Oh, you’re dead funny! You’re through to the afterlife!” “Ok, thank you, I guess.” “Oh, and, uh, maybe try not to touch anything there. Don’t want it spreading! Haha, oh man.” Marie Curie leaves to the afterlife “Oh, I love my job sometimes. I do, I really do! NEXT!”

Hate is probably not the right word. However, being king offers many benefits. Since at the time he would not just be ruling England but over parts of France and Ireland. Plus he wouldn't be able to have access to the funds he needed to go on crusades. Yes, he used English treasury for funds. He left his mother to be regent while he was away. Hence him only spending 6 months in England, out of his 10 year reign as king. So I would say he didn't care much about ruling England, hence him leaving his mother to deal with the politics there. Crusading was seen as more important to him.

Now I am curious how the Stupid Deaths would go with Krzysztof Ażniński, the only Pole so far (strangely enough) to earn a Darwin Award so far. I am guessing the Death guy might want to take an inspiration from this classic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6C1m4Wijqhrpbs

I heard about a man,who died in battle,because he needed to pee,but he refused to,and he died. It seems it's a stupid death,isn't it?

I suspect that story was actually Tycho de Brahe, who did not die of that cause in battle but at (after?) a banquet given by some important person he did not want to offend by leaving. P.S. Also that's a legend and it was apparently actually a more mundane kind of kidney failure.

Proberbly because it was a tv-show they couldn´t show how that kid supposedly died in real life... According to history Richard´s men literally flayed the kid alive.

You know, this guy was a king who led his men into battle in an effort to liberate Jerusalem in the Holy War. Along with Emperor Barbarossa of Germany, he was a true commander and chief. Not like the so-called commander and chiefs of today.

I still think it is far more likely that he was just hit by a stray crosbow bolt. If you believe the Hashishins mudered him, you have the right to your own opinion. I can tolerate that even if I cannot agree with it.
