Thanks! I can rely on you to point out flaws in a game when Tom Vassel doesn't (he loves it and gave the rare Excellent rating) so I can decide if it matters to me ❤

really enjoyed your review, and saw it's not for me and my family , but for a lot of ones out there.

Hi mate, Great review, as always. I've used this game in English classes during the last 12 months. Although I agree with some of the comments that you made, I do believe that it's very dependent on the players. In my case, it gives studentsthe chance to discuss what actions they are going to take in orderto progress and the whiole game encourages teamwork. Other games, without doubt, do this; Pandemic for example, but this one works fantastically well as the plot is not overly-complicated . I wouldnt dream of trying Eldritch with a group of ESL students! The artwork is a little "off", however, every game we've played seems to come down to almost the final turn. Id throughly recommend it as a gateway coop. Keep them cummig!!!

Agree its a simple game with a random aspect. As you said great for family game nights ours are 8 &12 and the older one finds it a little too easy.

Another great review! I may not always agree with you ( I like the colour scheme) but I enjoy your reviews as they are entertaining and there's no ambiguity. Thanks!

Bloody funny as usual. Picked up the game after watching the review and played with my daughter aged 6. She loved it, totally enjoyed the theme. This is going to be a nice game to play every now and then. But I can see why it might be a drag to play with 4 people.

Awesome content 👏 although this game can do little wrong for me. Love playing this with 3 or 4 monsters as I feel it is actually less random with the more monsters added. You know at least one monster is likely to do something each turn but also you are likely to get an item you need each turn (that is a long sentence but I can’t be bothered to edit it). Also I like how the game looks. Thank you for your reviews; they are awesome and honest 😀

The universal theme, original, is now very cheap in the US under 20$

I just purchased this game and the Horrified: American Monsters (HAM is a full box game, not an add-on). There was a banging deal online. I'm very excited to get this to a table and try it out. But I have not seen any actual expansion packs for this yet. Are there other Horrifieds out there yet? Horrified: Monsters Britannia? Horrified: Scandinavian Monsters? I would totally get versions of this game that feature "monsters" of local lore and myth from around the world. The variant ideas and files uploaded to BGG for this game are very entertaining and inspired. A lot of people are excited and inspired by this game. After giving it a few plays, I'll have to see what I think of your critiques. I understand the frustration with poorly implemented luck mechanics. Do you have any ideas or thoughts about what things could be tried to help mitigate that issue? I'm not opposed to house rules that improve flawed game mechanics.

A previous comment said more monsters can reduce the amount of luck, but with kids this isn’t always a good idea as it pumps up the difficulty.

Excellent review. I'll give the game a go if I get the chance. But I'd like to add if anyone is looking for a horror themed board game, I'm gonna recommend Last Night on Earth by Flying Frog Games. It's a zombies vs heroes game and is an absolute blast to play. Extremely high replayability, incredible artwork, thematic cards and dice chucking.

We have that. Not too keen on the random and scenario based aspect of it though. Flying frog make wonderful looking games.

I should be glad that I didn't buy this game recently when a second hand example came up on FB. This would probably not light my candles.
