It doesn’t matter if they get to the ball first, its called excessive force. Players can react with enough time to make sure they don’t hit the other player but some don’t give a dam and go in full force cuz they’re salty or for whatever reason

DLS if the slide tackle is clean there would be no foul if it´s a slide tackle with studs first and the leg going slightly upward it´s usually a straight red even if ball first. I know the rules can be confusing but if it´s a red the VAR checks how late it was how high it was and was there an intent to injure. Your guys content is brilliant keep it up.

To answer some of your questions: 1. The referee putting up a yellow card and then a red card means that player has already received a yellow card and this was his final offense and he is now disqualified from the match. 2. During a scuffle players bump chests when they are angry but they avoid putting their hands on each other and their opponents faces because it is considered assault and is an immediate red card and could result in hefty fines for the player and the club. 3. The main reason most of these are serious fouls is because the players did an illegal tackle on the opposing player rather than getting the ball. A referee's job is to ensure fair and safe play. A player can get red cards just for the implications of an illegal or dangerous tackle. If the referee feels as if the player will cause harm to others or even if he is being belligerent or unprofessional it can warrant an instant red card. 4. It is understandable that some of these fouls look like players are flopping or diving but being able to determine how dangerous a foul is can be very important. Footballers are some of the fastest athletes on the planet and they have some of the strongest legs because of the constant running and fitness training. They also wear some of the least protective padding. So when 2 players collide at full speed but you only see them scrape each other in foot keep in mind that both of those players have just hit each other with the combined force of kicking a ball at 80+ mph (also imagine having a 165+ lbs man stomp down on your ankle.) 5. Most sports have an unwritten "rule number one" and in football it is "DO NOT purposely extend your cleats or lift your feet in a dangerous way."

Guys, even if a player gets the ball first, if they endanger their opponent they're most likely gonna get a red card or at least a yellow(if they already had a yellow before that means they get a red card). Yellow can be for things like: Careless foul play - mis-timed slide tackle, shoulder to the back, high foot near other player's head but not connecting, stepping on someone's foot when going for the ball that type of thing (can be deliberate if it is not bad enough) Getting into an altercation with another player without pushing to the head, neck or groin or striking with any other part of body (pushing, grabbing, going head to head) Unsporting conduct - diving, faking injury, deliberate handball, taking shirt off, excessive celebration/ taunting mild dissent to ref - Yelling multiple times at the ref about one call, making one moderately disrespectful comment (Like saying that is bullshit when the ref makes a call) too many fouls by one player or team (say one player has committed 3 or 4 non yellow worthy fouls, the ref will warn him one more and it's a yellow) tactical fouls denying promising attacks - pulling someone's shirt when he's crossed you up, tripping someone when they have a 3 on 2 attack etc Denial of clear goal scoring opportunity while trying to play the ball - tripping someone when you try to tackle him from the side to stop a 1v1 with goalie etc (this one used to be a red card as all denial of clear goal scoring opportunities were but this was changed) Time wasting/ delaying restart of game - kicking the ball away after you foul someone, holding the ball when the opponent is trying to take a restart of play, standing around waiting instead of taking a throw/free kick. Failure to respect the required distance when play is restarted with a corner kick, throw-in or free kick Entering or re-entering the field of play without the referee's permission or Deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee's permission

You need to learn that its doesnt always have to be an bad tackle, if someone goes in too aggresive with the bottom of the shoe for example but didnt hit the guy its a yellow and could be a red depending on how bad it is

If you get 2 yellows it's an automatic Red card . But you can also get an automatic Red card if the play is brutal . Players bump chest to try restraining themselves from throwing punches. Since they know if punches start it's an automatic Red. And confronting a ref or arguing with the ref could could lead to a yellow or automatic Red .
