I agree that Ito-sensei kills it at creating strong locations and “creatures”. The town in Lovesick is nightmare-fuel. Reminds me of a reoccurring dream I have where I’m wandering a cramped city at night looking for a quiet spot to sit and blend into the shadows.

I actually like Remina quite a lot. It get really silly at the end, but when you start to think about it I find it to be quite gloomy. I mean think about it, the people left on that space ship will die all alone in cold outer space. Plus they would probably kill each other when there's no more food left and let's not forget when the oxygen run low.

I quite like Remina as well- in particular the parts that take place in space with the astronauts, and all the parts involving the planet itself. Those are the monster/location bits that Ito is so great at, and if all the "on earth" parts involving Remina's escape from the public and weird flying scenes etc. were removed, I think it could be one of his best works for sure. Ito has a tendency to make some really silly scenes when he loses that focus and it can make the overall mood really odd, haha.

I really enjoying reading this collection. The 5 chapter lovesickness story really gave me a lot of silent hill 2 vibes with how the fog bound town and with how some of the residents are illustrated within this story.
