WRONG. Pennywise feeds on people's belief in him but he likes the flavour of fear the most. So if you're scared he will eat you because you taste better like that. It's seasoning. But even if you're not scared he can still eat you. It's not about not being scared of him. It's about not believing in him which is quite hard when he shows up in front of you. Not believing in him would be like questioning your own sanity and reality. Also, shouting bad words at him doesn't mean you're not scared. The movie gets it twisted in that way.
