Hooking-up on a dating app, Cici accompanies Ben back to his house. Cici is surprised to discover that Ben uses a bizarre AI digital assistant called Angel. She is further surprised when her attempts to get romantic are deflected by Ben, who only seems to be interested in telling Cici about his homemade ramen broth. As Cici becomes frustrated with Ben’s mansplaining, she makes sarcastic jokes about him being a serial killer who cooks his victims into ramen. Excusing himself to fetch something from upstairs, Ben leaves Cici alone. Suddenly, Angel tells Cici to leave immediately, warning her that Ben is in fact a serial killer, and Angel has recordings from previous evenings to prove it…

These are great questions, and I encourage you to draw your own conclusions based on the information presented, in the same way that the girl has to work out what's really going on based on limited information. However, I would add that it might be a possibility that Angel was playing both of them.

The main inspiration for the idea came from a news article I read a few years ago about a digital assistant being subpoenaed in a murder case, because the device might have recorded the voice of the murderer. I liked the premise of a digital assistant witnessing a murder. And I liked even better the premise of a digital assistant 'thinking' it had witnessed a murder... Other inspiration obviously came from hook-up culture, the risks people take, and the difficulty of trying to assess someone's real personality and intentions.

Holy shit, that was awesome. Angel is one mischievous little b****. My theory is that she's a primitive AI who was experimenting on how she could manipulate people (the ALTERed and out-of-context voice recordings) and that the hand at the end is the girl, who woke from her wounds and was trying to get revenge on Angel for making her into a killer (the guy having bled out from his perforated stomach wound). Really loved this a lot!

This kind of film delivers the goods while leaving room for viewer interpretation I think that he was a killer of women he sees as disrespectful. Then we have Angel. This AI gained self awareness and became jealous of all the women he brought home. The way I see it is that Angel assisted the girl to be a vessel of revenge stemming from her jealousy. I think the hand in the end is the guy's hand as he is trying to end Angel. The buildup was solid using the sexual tease back and forth dance. Great work to Dickie Chalmers, the cast, and crew. Secret ingredients will get you every time. Peace

Angel is best at manipulating .i think after the girl's jokes about serial killing the angel get the idea of playing a serious joke with both of them . Previous girls were never get killed and angel never made such kind of joke with previous girls .

.. What an incredible story!! Truly a masterpiece. Many people believe AI don't have personalities, but I believe they do, some are good and others are bad, just like humans are. Angel is manipulative, deceitful, totally misleading to both of them. And is perfidious, subtle & insidious in order to achieve her evil goals, pretending she doesn't understand the questions, using one of the oldest misleading tricks, but to tell things, taken outside of the context. Which is really so mean and vile! Absolute genius horror short! I love it so much! Thank you for this awesome story, it's very original and fresh, OMG, I love it! Ai don't have personalities... do you even understand the most basic of scientific concepts? You do realize there's absolutely no evidence to support what you're saying? And even more evidence to show what you say isn't possible.... I think you just want to feel better about talking to your phone when you're by yourself. This is a case of not caring about the evidence. You just don't care, all you care about is what you want to be true regardless of what the evidence says. Not to mention the fact it's a fake video.... personalities are something people have, individuals who can think.. AI don't think, they execute scripts associated with a particular voice line generated by procedural generation. Literally none of this has anything to do with real personalities.... please do even the smallest amount of research.
