No, Carlos is not the villain.

@@trevorwilliams3501 of course he's not the villain, he's still the victim of multiple crimes, but he did make a very foolish decision that changed the villain's mind about sparing his life. After being warned repeatedly not to do the foolish thing by the villain. To be fair that is usually part of horror movies, many characters do dumb things that allow them to be killed easily - other examples are investigating a strange noise, putting their weapon down and not picking it up again, running to hide upstairs instead of leaving the house in their car, etc...
