I've loved Karen Gillan since I first saw her on Doctor Who, and damn if she doesn't seem to age! She does a fantastic job as everything from angry, murderous Nebula to this everywoman loser who works her butt off so that some weird alien office drone can get a meh idea out into the world. This would normally be one of these shorts that I would go "huh" at, but she made all the difference, and now I'm wondering what happened next in her life.

@@ChiliCheeseD0g I have boobs too, so what? I'm saying that a great actor can take a so-so script and elevate it to the next level just on the strength of their acting. She was a decent actor back when she was in Doctor Who and showed flashes of brilliance, but she's improved since by being in other roles. Currently, I would say she's a great actor, but she still has some work to do in order to live up to those flashes of brilliance I've seen in her.

Tom is right. It's the chase that's the exciting part to be doing. Once you catch what you were chasing it will never be the same again. This is the message that Chloe was assigned to teach the world. 🙂
@Mereologist
@Mereologist 29 күн бұрын
Nonsense. If the message were true, there would have been no point in enacting the plot of this short, which required her to reach the destination instead of just screwing around for years. In fact, the moral is that everything she said was wrong. Or maybe the moral is that some people have no idea what they're talking about.

If that is the message, then is it better to not actually achieve things because the happiness ends? Thats what Jerry was saying in the cartoon. But no, there is joy to be found in the chase AND in the achievement if you make worthwhile goals. Disappointment comes from both failure to achieve and in achieving blase' goals. Still, its better to achieve blase' goals than to achieve nothing at all. 🤣🤣

It is like watching an original short story come alive. Depth. Breadth. Originality. Pathos. Humanity. Philosophy. Wonder. Emotions. Well done. I really felt like she was sad, the beets were sad, and for the first time in history even pizza was sad. Beets are always generally sad and bring down everyone in the room with their beet vibes, but I digress. The worst part of all of this was that sad girls holding food wasn't a real website and now my dreams of seeing high quality still images of Karen with beets and/or pizza may never happen. Karen's always fun to watch. Great actress. I enjoyed the entire story and the intriguing idea behind it. But as an indie author, gotta say, 7:27-7:29 really spoke to me, lol.

That was the best, most well-written, expertly directed, and and meaningfully acted, yet completely unfulfilling and unsatisfying short I have ever seen. Congratulations! I hate you.

what? wow? I mean my mind is blown, by just how funny creepy meaningful fun and entertaining this is. How is it possible that I just randomly stumbled upon this while searching for random stuff about Dr. Strange? The execution, the writing the timing and the acting. I love love love this... and can't stop thinking about how much fun all this hard work must have been.

The pacing was an important part of the success of this piece. Any faster would have been detrimental. Convincing delivery and facial expressions. No one overplayed their part. Effective scene work that emphasized the script’s goal. Cloe’s repartee w John was cute and clever. Good script. Good cinematography. Good acting. Well done.

So, Nebula, Polka-Dot Man, Dopinder, and Hulk-king, walk into a film short together... I loved the idea, and the ending. Yeah, sometimes a creative thought is...okay. This wasn't. This was brilliant.

BRILLIANT !!! and of course the stellar performance of Karen Gillan elevates this twenty-minute gem to the status of masterpiece. Potent, unadulterated, straight-up, no embellishments, no beating around the bush. A skilled shot, aimed straight for the heart, that hits the target with the accuracy of a guided missile. Nothing is forced, overwritten, or overplayed. Everything is in perfect equilibrium, traveling with grace, lightness, speed, and ease, through the intricate jungle of our synapses, providing wonder, delight, and inspiring satisfaction. What a treat!

@Nickkocher - I liked the way this shows the diametrically opposed ideas of: 1) It's not the destination, it's the journey, and 2) It's important to finish things. I'm not sure if the friction between these two concepts were intended - but it just struck me as amusing. And SO true. Thanks for a great story.
