There seems to be some confusion over what hapened here, so this is my personal take/summary. The blonde girl and the teacher were having an affair. The brunette, who is a close friend of hers and clearly had a crush on her, is deeply angered by this. She ends up writing a letter to the blonde that this legendary local creature, 'Rue', will sense her guilty actions and make her pay. The blonde girl gets angry in return and calls her a c*** which makes them all end up in the principal's office. During the sequence, the teacher tries to figure out how to get himself out of trouble, and all three of them are feeling guilty, the teacher for being involved with a student, and the two girls for hurting each other. Of course, as the brunette dredged up the ghost story and they are all feeling these intense feelings of guilt, this summons the monster which proceeds to torture them with their pain and guilt before killing them.

A fight between two friends that gets messy coz one of em, the brunette, has one sided love for the blonde. Both said or did something mean to each other and this had to be handled by the teachers. Now both are probably feeling guilty for saying something terrible to each other that they didn't really mean. So I think that's where rue comes to take both of them. But I'm not sure why the teacher died in the crossfire.

These really prove talent and an understanding of the horrific. God I'm glad I clicked on a vid on your channel. Reminds me a lot of Ito's works. Things aren't often fully explained. You can make some guesses, but the originality of the monster and the inexplicable-ness of it are golden. It's clear it has something to do with regret, and the fact that they thing is made of a bunch of interlocking hands gives us a lot of different feelings. Are the hands all from victims claimed by it? Do they mean something about how things snowball--how one person's regret becomes another persons? Like how if someone commits suicide over the regrets in their life, and another regrets not being able to stop them, perhaps leading to their own misery. There's a lot more I could read into it, but my point has been made.

Alter films, I have a genuine question. I’m big into you’re stuff because I like dark and mysterious things. Of course as I know much about folklore and such I was wondering; did you base this Rue ghost off the rougaou? Other than that, great filming and watching this at 3AM gave me spooks. Sometimes I think many of your ten minute shorts are better than going to see a big horror movie!!!
