The "thorn" symbol from the Halloween movies is actually the Þurisaz (Thur-isaz) Rune from the Elder Fuþark, which were magical symbols that formed the old Pagan Germanic alphabet. Thurisaz means "thorn" and represents hostile/negative powers connected with the Jotnar (giants). This same symbol "Þ" is still used in modern Icelandic, it makes the "th" sound in words like Þór (Thor), you've probably seen it in Amon Amarth albums too.

Wow, never knew that, that’s pretty interesting. You ever draw it on your wrist in red pen (and smudge it to look like a scar) when you’re bored? It now seems insulting to whoever came up with it lol
@bezoticallyyours832 жыл бұрын
Thurisaz is also a rune of protection as it represents Thor's hammer.

You're surprised? How many Metalheads aren't Horror Movie fans? Black Sabbath was named after a Horror Movie (titled "Black Sabbath"). Regardless, do what you want. Anyone who has a problem with your interpretation of how to be a Metalhead, is NOT a Metalhead! Cool Horror Vest, brother!

Yeah as a metalhead myself I assumed basically most us are horror fans hell metal and horror go hand and hand

Absolutely love your horror vest and now jacket!! I started making my own about two years ago after watching your channel for like a year or two prior!! While I love metal horror vests/jackets are a lot cooler than traditional battle vests and to this day my horror jacket is my all time favorite jacket I’ve made! So thank you for the amazing content and inspiration!

The Houses October Built 1&2 have been essential Halloween viewing of mine for a couple years now. The thing is the the first movie was based off of the original documentary film they did. It also shares footage from the documentary. But, they are pretty fun movies to watch. Love the vest and the beginning of the jacket! That Munsters patch is sweet! 🤘🏻

I have to say it's your best who cares what I'm by things my opinion I love those backpatches it's good to have different sizes in different shapes instead of having the boring square ones and you placed it amazing It will be really cool when you get free Kruger's hand but you look amazing underneath Michael Myers's head Believe me like I'm thinking about making another vest but I'm not a huge horror movie guy but I love anime so I'm thinking about making myself anime jacket

Awesome! Personally I have only made 1 vest so far and I don't just have metal or just have horror on a vest, mine has a good mix of both all around it, and I think it's probably always going to be like that for every vest I make, I love horror movies and metal music pretty much just as much as one another and I don't like seperating them. I should show my vest off sometime.

I’m looking at patches and pins ranging from horror movies like Evil Dead to Lovecraftian shit like Cthulhu to black metal like Mayhem all the way to horror punk like Samhain and Blitzkid, and it’s all thanks to you my friend. You are also one of the big reasons I made a battle vest in the first place.

So how do you overlap patches without sewing through 2 patches, it seems difficult to that, also when you see how do you see it secure enough to keep patches from falling off, I have that problem often

Definitely needs more Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre stuff on there! If it's too hard to find large horror patches, you can cut out designs from t-shirts instead (and maybe add a stiff backing material) I've not put horror movie patches on my battle vest, but I've included Left4dead which is a horror game
