repurposing a shirt graphic as the back patch is such a genius idea omg. I'm still waiting for a denim jacket that fits me properly to show up in the thrift store so I can customize it too. thank you for sharing the process, love ya 💕

I love the idea of repurposing a t-shirt graphic into a backpatch! Now if only I had a cute graphic tee that was too small.

The wonderful thing about DIYing a denim jacket is that it's so casual nothing has to be perfect. In fact, crooked patches, weird stitching, etc adds to the character of the piece.
@megandrover3405 жыл бұрын
im a metalhead and my first Battle vest i used an old Metallica ride the lighting crop top for the backpatch , was actually my first ever metal tee that i got from forever 21 when i first got into metal. my current main (metal) battlevest i started as a horror vest but it was taking way too long to find patches i liked without resorting to the internet so i scrapped that and started loading it with death metal and stuff. i currently have 4 battlevests but they are still all metal.

OMG yes. My husband bought a denim jacket (in the style of a motorcycle jacket) off Angry Young & Poor for me to put a bunch of band patches on for him. That thing was THICCCCC!! And It had a bunch of hidden pockets I had to try to avoid sewing shut. Took me hours just for a few patches and I had to use a thimble & a pair of pliers for EACH STITCH!! He's lucky I love him so much. lol My fav horror movies are Trick R' Treat & Tokyo Gore Police.

That is a great graphic for the back! This is a great way to show your love of horror. Years back I cut the graphic from a t-shirt, and used a bunch of safety pins to attach it to the back of a denim shirt. I wanted to use red embroidery thread, but misplaced it- so I improvised. There are just too many awesome horror movies in existence to pick just one! Here's some that i love that often get overlooked: High Tension (2003), The Pact (2012), Sinister (2012)

I’d be interested to hear how you enjoy horror films as a highly sensitive person as i’m also a HSP and I can barely listen to scary music without getting upset 🤷🏻♀️ And gore makes me feel physically ill and shaky :( however I love anything creepy but wholesome like Addams family, Coraline & tim burton. Using embroidery thread instead of sewing thread is totally normal! Lots of people use it to sew things on in a decorative way, like with a blanket stitch or a whip stitch, for example.

You could sew the back in place and refine it by making like a diagonal spiral stitch all around it with embroidery floss. That way it will look like you did half circles all around it and it will stay better in place.
