Super tired today. Misread the title as "The Canoli" and was excited and confused how a horror tale would be about an Italian dessert. Just as excited about the last vampire story, its been a great series. Thanks, Ian!

I am exhausted and tired and weary at my office job and would rather live like this creature than keep going on this way. I want a canoli. That being said this story is getting me through my day. Thank you Horror babble

Lol, "the canoli" as a scary story reminded me of the old movie The Young Sherlock Holmes by Spielberg. Watson's drug induced hallucination was if a bunch of pastries attacking him. 🙂

The title reminds me, L.T.C Rolt, the famous railway and canal preservationist actually wrote a rather excellent book of his own Ghost stories. "Sleep No More" was the name of the book. Well worth considering if you're looking for new material. :)

Loved this series so much thank you as always for your work and passion. I've noticed a few new pieces of music lately here on HB like the new opening piece here which has a synth wave feel. I love it and was wondering if you've posted or will post these tracks as you did with your piece 'Into the Abyss' (which I love listening to regularly).

It's a little overegged gothic, but I like this sort of mood to the story. Note to self: Do not prowl the canals in search of thirsty ladies -- hazardous to health! Vampire Anarchist Handbook: -Locate wimpy horndog -Enthrall -Scheme to release comrades -Conceal shady past -Control the message -Dispell doubt with heavy rock Shame there's no follow up. Left me wondering whether they had enough batpower to take Nebraska after the camp. I also wonder whether the chap could have chosen life as a vampire hunter. So many stake in pocket lines could've been used! But seriously - turbo gothic ending if the child death was an accident, and the chap and his paramour found out in the act of killing each other as the world burned around them.🤔👍❤️🔥

How odd. My copy of this story omits the bat cave; the narrator takes her directly to the camp and leaves, knowing what she is doing. He vows to come back to the barge the next night to kill her, but only after he has taken the "vampire kiss."
