3:29 5:00 You know something has been around a while when the Terrible Old Man says things were the same when his grandfather was a boy. I love this story. It is only one of two that has one of my favorite Lovecraft characters in it Fantastic narration! Thanks!

Jamie Cameron I can't lie. I actually like the Dream Cycle more than the Cthulhu Mythos.

Doesn’t quite explain things which is perfect 👌🏻. Everyone has to use their imagination to fill in the gaps . Dream Cycle stories leave you to imagine what is meant to be real and what isn’t 😄

This is Lovecraft's most musical use of words I've heard so far. There's a rhythm to the beginning and end framing device that reminds me of iambic poetry.

I'm so glad you guys did this one. It's a favorite of mine. Magical and strange, but not in such a way that you can't suspend disbelief, and it's not schlocky despite the subject material.

This is an awesome tale, I have never had the pleasure of reading this one which surprises me. Regardless this rendition of it brought forth the air of mystery and the unknown that is the hallmark of Lovecraft. Once again, a fantastic performance.

Moving forward, we'll synchronise new Lovecraft readings to go live at the same time on both channels - this will hopefully resolve the matter! Sorry about that! Ian

This story is 80% ending. Nothing actually happens in it, and HP just rambles on and on and on until he runs out of steam.

The most merciful thing in the world , I think , is the inability to the human mind to correlate all its contents. (Quote from Call of Chtulhu but fits even better here.)

I don't understand why this is on the new Lovecraft channel AND here too. Or even why there is a separate Lovecraft channel. That said, good tale and a good read of it.

Thank you! I realise there's some confusion regarding the new channel, but not everybody will see the updates we post on the community tab, facebook, etc. Essentially - all Lovecraft readings will appear on both channels, with the exception of re-recordings of older readings on the main channel (they'll just appear on the new channel). As for why there is a second channel, this is from another comment I replied to below: There'll be other content exclusive to the new channel, i.e. videos on Lovecraft lore, and readings of his letters, etc. It's also a great way to organise his works, rather than have them completely dominate the main channel's homepage. I hope this clears a few things up! Ian

I prolly ask to much here, but what made you decide a new channel for your masterwork lovecraft readings to be separate from your other great narrations?? though ive heard them all, its your readings of the stories that i come back to every night so i hope everything goes as you want it too.

Hello! All new Lovecraft readings will appear on both channels, with the exception of re-recordings (so as to avoid duplicates). There'll be other content exclusive to the new channel too, i.e. videos on Lovecraft lore, and readings of his letters, etc. It's also a great way to organise his works, rather than have them completely dominate the main channel's homepage. There are many reasons. But all that aside, I'm just a huge fan of his works. Ian
