John I'm not sure the horse is Oman, he doesn't match my picture, Oman has 3 stockings and this horse only has 2 on the rear legs and the blaze is different. I have a picture of this horse from February but no name.

@@BlueIsis433 The hoof # is crystal clear and the horse is listed as 'Oman' at Hyde Park Stables. So unless they reused the number with a new horse (highly unlikely), it's definitely Oman.

Good morning John and all well watchers. I'm again chiming in from Pennsylvania USA. Today we remember June 6, 1944 (D-Day) and all of the allied troops that stormed Normandy. May we never forget the sacrifice....may we always be grateful for our freedoms. Have a safe journey John. Love you much ❤

Good morning or should I say afternoon. It's me from over the sea (pond) . Hope everything's going the best it can for you. Two questions. One is do you know the name of the smallest horse in the kings guard and LOL I forgot.the second one. That's me. Oh wait I remember are any of the horses who ran away a few months ago being used in the boxes?

Smallest is possibly the pretty mare from the Lifeguards Pagan with the unusual mottled face . Three of those horses Trojan , Tennyson and Vanquish are probably taking part in the Trooping the Colour after a rest at The Horse Trust . Vida the grey mare and Quaker are recuperating at The Horse Trust at the moment hopefully both will return to duty later on . There's a link to the Army statement in the previous video or you can go to The Horse Trust to see it .

The "V" sign (as far as I know) was starting to be used by the Soldiers at the end of WW2 as a sign of Victory. Then with all the protest in the U.S.A. around the 60's it's meaning was changed to a Peace Sign. I would love to hear more History on this from anyone. I'm a History Buff. 🙂 ❤️

Honestly John, you might find the antics of Miss Self Absorbed amusing….personally I found her irritating as hell. This isn’t her personal photoshoot, and she doesn’t have the right to monopolise the space to get her “perfect” picture!! Not ok! A horse pawing the ground is generally impatience or irritation, tho some horses just do it as a habit. Liked the tiny nod and smile from Omans trooper at the elderly man with the little kid.

Horses will paw the ground when they're impatient, when you're asking them to stand still beyond their attention span. You'll see this most frequently with young horses, who don't understand why you keep them standing around when they want to go,

@@debbie4503 They’re usually not copying people but expressing frustration, anger, extra energy etc. Compare them to a hyperactive teenager, trying to exercise some part of their body while most of the body must sit still! Except in this case, they are much bigger than you and could kill or maim you, if they wanted to or even accidentally. Watch the horses ears, mouth and feet. Some of them play with their bit like a fidget toy spinning in their mouth. But if their ears are back and they are stomping their feet, stay out of their way and don’t try to touch them.

Even in the United States, some of us school, kids do not appreciate or understand the history of what happened all they care about is it’s a day out of classes and a day to goof off because we have the battle of Lexington and Concord and the freedom trail and it was extremely interesting to me as a kid And I still go through and I am at all of what happened and I’m now in my almost 70 and it’s still fascinates me what happened so seeing it do your eyes over there what the queen had and maybe they’re not so recent king is sick as he is Had or has right now is quite a history to follow. I’m fascinated by it I love to see what went on over there and how the guards function back then❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼

About the guy who shoved by people to get a picture with the trooper, when I visited my daughter in Seoul, she told me to crush onto the subway car because otherwise I wouldn't get on. There are so many people in such a small country that the space bubble and politeness I was used to didn't happen there. I have a feeling it might be the same all over Asia, so he wouldn't think his actions were wrong. It was difficult to overcome my early training, but my daughter was 100% accurate.

❤ Dear John just love checking in the horses at Horse Guard Parade with you. I check-in personally everytime I am down in London as I can not ride anymore due to disability. I also love the police horses when I see them out and about. I grew up with working horses. The tourist and the idoit pills are so true. However the London locals are just as frequently takers of idoit pills. Often I have seen London locals cut through the boxes etc because they frustrated by the tourists blocking their shortcut when I lived in the city. Tour guides and their bright flappy flags, mic systems and failure to prebrief their clients are just as bad. Unfortunately people are so urbanized nowadays and they just don't have experience or knowledge of horses and other large animals. I get to deal with idiot walkers/hikers nowadays in my retirement who upset my cattle when using public footpaths. Those teachers blocking the kids in the corner was the correct thing to do for health and safety. Damn failure of UK education system for failure to provide respect for UK history and military in the national curriculum. I taught high school in the UK for twenty years. I did 10yrs in Australia and then twenty years teaching teenagers in the UK. Pity not many large groups or parents seem to apply this thing called common sense. But then common sense is a rare, very rare thing. I get so so peeved at the disrespect to the military personnel (human and horse) as I come from a very big military family and my late husband also served. I have children, nieces and nephews who are current military personnel (UK/Australia/NZ/Canada in all services). We have one WW2 military veteran still with us in my family - Australian Air Force she was a WAAAF the first Australian branch to have female members due to the shortage of male personnel in 1941. They didn't even get to be known as a royal military service initially. The WRAAF was established in 1950. She transferred from WAAAF to WRAAF. To finish out her 25 years of military service. My great-aunt was the baby of her 12 siblings. All of her siblings were in active service during WW2 both military and other services❤ like land army. She turned 100 in April and absolutely loved getting her card from the King in Canberra.

Always enjoy your videos and try to watch then daily. I love seeing these Gorgeous horses and The Honorable Men & Women who are seated upon them. What I hate seeing is Truly Stupid & Disrespectful tourists!! Will they ever learn to "READ AND CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THE WORDS ON THE SIGN" Nope, probably not! Blessings your way from the USA and Thank you John for sharing your beautiful walks, sights and sounds of your Lovely Country with us everyday! I truly hope to get to visit the UK oneday and would be a big plus to be able to meet you at The Gates! Safe Travels❤🙋‍♀️👍🕊

This horse;Orman,is having:’a bad day!’Yeah, you’ve got to be careful around these horses!🐎 You just don’t know what the horse’s are going to do?I’d treat them with the greatest respect!🫡You just need to know, here! It is very enjoyable to see them guarding the castle! It’s nice 👍 to see;’a part of London,England!I went there a long, time, ago with my family. We saw the 🎤 musical’Cats’while we were there.(back during the Summer of 1988).I also saw;Gabriel Drake from Gerry Anderson’s;Ufo at the Paledian Theater 🎭 while there, too!

V means Victory. At least from my past/generation it meant that. The "ghost" spooked the horse 😀

John, I think Tyranny has been between Ormand and Arnie too long in the stables. "I learned how to do this..." LOL Orman seems to be upset. I do hope he is okay. Is that woman in red sweats one of the odd ones who roam the streets during the day? We have several here, they used to be only in downtown Nashville, however, over the last couple of years they have begun moving outward. Tell Buska, between the 2 of you, the laughter is very helpful for me and I appreciate it. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely city with us. Stay safe.

The "ghost" is possibly unwell - I've had occasions when I've been told I'm white & it's usually because my blood count is in my boots & I need to get boosted!

There is such a thing as rubber horseshoes for better traction on stone footing. I wish they would use them. A lot safer.😊
