Here's a great example of how strong legs and gentle hands are always the winner.
Here's the same horse being ridden with "only" hands and weak legs first - and then a minute later with strong legs and gentle hands. Take a look at the difference!

Excellent video! Thx so much. dear Gav! I hope U R OK. I ve been watchon all ur videos PANIC FREE HORSEMANSHIP... They re great!! they ve been of great help. thx so much. i was wondering if I could ask U this 1= i usually train the horses for abou an hour. 15 minutes warm up (5 walking, almost ten troting), then I canter and gallop for half an hour, and 15 or 10 mintes cooling down. Is that OK? I see all therest of riders in the club train them for 20 or 30 minutes starting cantering and soon gallping and no cooling down. 2) is it bad for horses if I practice about 5 or 10 minutes of ridig without stirrups 3( I ve seen ur ideos abou teaching roll back, starting one step at a time with walking backwards, releasin immediately after he horse starts to walk back. However, one of the horses Iride wouldnt move at all. i know I should keep pulling the rein and pressing my legs bt anyway. Am I beeing too soft_ Shpuld I do that more strongly: I have the feeling I might urt his mouth. thx in advance. Jorgelina from Argentina
