Horse sounds: neigh, groan, nicker and more...

I'm working on a game about Filipino folklore, and I wanted to incorporate real horse sounds into certain dialogue of the horse-headed Tikbalang. Thanks for teaching me the right words to use when searching for specific sound effects! Searching for "horse laugh" or "horse scream" would never have been as effective as "whinny" or "squeal."

@bossmanbossy It's still going to be quite a while. I'm a solo developer working on games in my free time, and this one is a really ambitious project. I also want to publish some smaller games first before putting all my attention on such a large game. But this is my dream game, so I can't help getting excited and working on it a little bit in the meantime 😂

Why are all these videos like "this sound can mean basically everything and anything, and then this different specific sound means also specifically anything and everything, but differently"

Because that's language for you! Their language is just as nuanced as ours. If you know your horse, you will have more context, and understand the more subtle variations.

@MayimHastings just wish they gave a few more examples for each sound and showed differing scenarios in which the sounds are used *in terms of when they're distressed maybe show a silly video of a baby horse scaring a bigger horse because obviously nobody wants to see an animal in excruciating pain or major distress* but yee it just felt a bit vague and I just couldn't contain the troll

for the nicker section, PLEASE STOP TALKING ALL OVER THE ACTUAL SOUNDS. wtf! there's literally a moment where you say nothing until the very instant the nicker starts, and then suddenly it's time to deliver a soliloquy 💀
