My chemistry may not be the strongest but doesn't baking soda actually neutralize acids not alkaline solutions? From my understanding it's alkaline solutions that tend to corrode aluminum.

But what do you do if you get mild to moderate corrosion? How do you clean to apply a sealant. What products do you use. Up front Prevention is best but some of us have corrosion.

Thought baking soda will cause it to oxidize ?

It oxidizes it but to what extent? Unsure when it becomes corrosive.
