Ulysses, with divine inspiration from Athene, designs a giant hollow wooden horse.
The plan is to hide soldiers inside and leave it outside the Trojan walls and retreat.
The Trojans will take it as a gift to the gods and take it inside the city. The hidden soldiers can then open the gates to let in the Greek armies.
Agamemnon tweaks the plan, so they leave Sinon to tell the Trojans what to do with the horse.
Sinon will get drunk and pretend he had been abandoned by the Greek forces so the Trojans will pity and trust him.
In ‘Inside Outside’ Sinon explains the plan to Thersites and Talthybius, two of the Spartans who are to hide inside the horse.
It takes some explaining as they are somewhat slow and Sinon is getting progressively more drunk.
