I like it when horse trainers keep it simple and short. This is a very important lesson. I notice you wear spurs but most casual riders don't.

Short and simple is the idea! Yes I wear spurs but rarely make contact with the horse. It’s just for a few specific things

Thank you, Im a beginner rider, one year now, and on the last session the horse I had decided a couple of times to just go into the center of the arena. I work on with being more clear and firm in my leg/seat aides, and will also try this.

great video, will this also work if the horse wants to turn to a different direction? thank you.

Thank you! Yes this will give you better control of the horse no matter which direction he’s trying to go 👍🏼😊

Common sense instructions that work, explained in a simple manner! Too many horsemanship video complicate their own instructions by over explaining! (The older the horseman, the more they want to explain their plethora of knowledge) This young lad is able to clearly explain in less than 5 minutes, what others explain in their 45 minute marathon videos. As they say in the army "K.I.S.S."😘(Keep It Simply Soldier) Great videos! LIKE👍COMMENT🗨& SUBSCRIBE❗♥

First thing is make sure your horse understands leg, seat and rein cues and reliably turns at the walk before you speed up. Wondering if the horse in video turns well at slower speeds. I've seen many in last few years that flex neck/head beautifully around to knee standing still...but have no clue about actual turning.

how young is the horse the person is riding? how old should a horse be before riding?
@casdragon_5939 Жыл бұрын
horses can grow up until they're 5 (sometimes even longer depending on breed), so I don't even start a horse under saddle until 3. Then its light riding until 5 and then I can start the harder stuff.

My horse Comet in this video is 8 years old. The other comment is very close to what I would recommend for most horses 😊

My horse has this exact problem. He does so well on the ground, but is so stubborn in the saddle. I don't think he trusts his rider to guide him. He also is constantly fighting to get his buddy. The downside is when I have to get after him he starts swishing his tail and tossing his head and getting worked up. I understand that I'm not as good of a rider as I am at groundwork, but I've improved a lot, so I guess I'll just keep going and pray he has an aha moment at some point

Keep working with him and he’ll get better! Sometimes they just need time to figure out the right answer 😅
