@@HorsePerfect Yes he seems super clever and most of all super well educated ! ☺️😅👌🏻 Do you practice with new or old methods of teaching ? I started horse riding in 1974 , in France. I stopped for a big while I was busy...with my own life. After 33 years I started again and discovered lots of new things. Like the mountain block. Lol. Are you doing ground work in liberty ? Or new horsemanship ? I think it 's so better for many reasons. Less violent. More soft. When I learnt the three things you learnt first were, be careful with ears, stay on your saddle, and back straight heels down. I had a good seat till two years ago. Now I have many health issues. It became more complicated. I had to stop riding for months. I love horses and never had mine but my own relationship with horses was always good. (Cats or dogs too) Despite some falls, and one horse bite, I always got on the saddle again. It was clear, normal thing. This mare thought it was the rider who just had touched her briddle, and I already have fallen two times from her back. First I was too tired and lost my balance. It was not good for me. Second time, very tired and I lost my balance too, she was scared by a horse eater, a pigeon. 😂I got up this time immediately. Independently from that she chosen me to be her leader! She is an English Thoroughbred. And she is " special". I can do all the things you do here with your own horse to her, not the end! Bravo !!! She trusts me. I can learn her not to be scared from little things. I 'm very soft but I can be full of authority ( I was a good teacher!) . I can pet her head or anywhere and she definitely has some behaviors as if I was her owner. This makes all the other riders very jealous from me (I do not speak to them but.. it is a small barn)... No comment. She does knickers too. Loudly. 😅 The only explanation I found for it was that the second time we met, I delivered her head from a painful bridle. She could have biten me badly but not at all. I put it out of her view. We were in her paddock . Then she chose to come to me, low neck and it was the beginning of our relationship. I love her but she made her choice first. Unfortunately I believe she isn't made to be a horse school. She was a good race horse. Now... What could I do with her ?? I can not buy her or take care of her all the time due to age and health. I go to the horse school only to see her, be with her. What would be your best advice here?

I have been cow kicked by my horse while standing at the 45 degree angle. She kicked forwards from her back legs and hit me in the thigh while i was standing in front of her front legs dont know how it happened but goes to show no rule is hard and fast. We've come far however and there is a good level of trust beteeen us
@HorsePerfect Жыл бұрын
Wow! Sorry about that! Definitely a flexible horse! Absolutely… no rule is set in stone it’s just a guideline that should help. I would say you got unlucky because there’s like almost no chance of that happening if the horse didn’t move forward first or if you were standing to close to the front leg.

First I love your vids! I'm buying property in Nevada and an opportunity to buy wild horses for $25 a peace. Having no know how how probable is this? If I don't take them they go for meat and I feel I would like to help as many as realistically managble
@HorsePerfect2 жыл бұрын
Hi John, thank you! Wow, interesting situation! So many potential variables could influence my advice for you. I love how you want to help as many as you can! If you have more than 3 acres a horse the land should be enough to sustain them until you decide what to do with them. If you have female and male horses it may be a good idea to separate them immediately to halt increasing numbers. The next step could be assessing the horses and checking for any that need to be humanly put down because of old age etc. Ideally you could at some point work with the horses briefly so that they can be caught and then you may be able to sell them for more than $100 each depending on their age and physical condition. Hope this gives some insight and if you have any more questions please feel free to email me at Horseperfect.tv@gmail.com

When I get my horse, it's bull riding helmets, motorcross boots, and any other practical protective clothing. The whole western wear gear is not always practical.
@SephirothWaifu2 жыл бұрын
It's encouraging to know that you can wear protective gear for "just in case" scenarios. I admire period, how powerful horses are and are NOT a predatory animal. It's all practical defense and the body of their design is art in the power that they have to protect themselves from predators. What they do is only natural and we as humans subject them to our ways as to it being sports. (Sorry I'm not a fan of rodeo. Animals don't have a choice where its stress and pain)
@Art_of_Ramon2 жыл бұрын
@@SephirothWaifu Humans have been rather good at imposing their will on all animal lifeforms on this planet. From horses to yeast, they do our bidding in a mutually cooperative relationship that ensures survival of all. Anyone who believes otherwise should not eat cultivated plants or keep pets of any kind.
