I was more impressed by Freddie getting into a nice canter just being said. That's what you call a great, well trained horse. He doesn't even need a rope or anything. I love him!

I am not very knowledgeable about horses and hence would like to ask a question. Is horse riding / dealing with horses not a very dangerous occupation? Every now and then, I catch stories in the press on how people have gotten bed ridden or consigned to wheel chairs after falling off / kicked by horses. Of course, there are many other dangerous things one can do .. like car racing, boxing and so on but I was curious just about this horse thing.

Go to a barn to learn how to care for and ride. Read as much books on horses and Natural riding. Everything is dangerous any more. GO LIVE LIFE AND HAVE FUN . It’s Better on a horse☺️👍

Horse's backs CAN bend, just not to the same degree as a human's. Have you ever seen a horse buck, roll or lie down? There is some evident back-bending whenever that happens. I don't know if either the narrator misheard her saying "A horse's back can't bend as much as ours can," or if that woman has no idea what she's talking about.

It can be, depends entirely on the horses you're working with and what you're doing with them - more likely to have your toes stood on/squashed into doors etc., by a younger horse, if you never ride the horse outside the arena then you're safer than if you go competing cross country and so on. But a lot depends on the handlers experienced too, I'm rather used to youngsters and horses doing weird things, but I still managed to fall off and break my shoulder last year XD
