Horsham Lake - Beginners lake

I use to go here with my dad and granddad fishing when I was young, they have both passed away now but I think I’m ready to learn how to fish again so I’m coming back here in the summer! 😁

I hate this to be a bad comment but Horsham lake is one of the worst lakes in Kent. It wasn't a long time ago I have fished here since I was 25 now I'm 36, I use to take my kids down here for a good fun day out for them. I was one of the best places you could take them, cheap and cheerful at only 5 pound per rod as they said. Sadly now of aug 2023 its now 10 pound, I know prices have risen but its a joke because they do nothing to the lake to improve it. Snags are everywhere, they don't cut trees, they don't clean out the floats and weights, no bins or toilets, its just a whole in the ground of which is getting shallower by the year. they don't fill it up, like now 2ft away from the original depth. Fish are all mangled up, fins and mouths are mutated. As I said I've been coming down this place for a very long time so this isn't just a one off bad experience. Its sad to say but they lie about there being big fish and lie about looking after the lake when you can clearly seen its not the case just a hole where they take money from.

funny that, we are now planning our next trip its going to be a 36 hour to kube lakes trying for catfish there any tips?

No tips from me as I try to avoid catching catfish just don’t like the look/feel of them
