I remember being surprised with this movie when I was a kid. This shows that you can make a good Dr. Seuss adaptation without trying to be hip and cool for the kids and adding a billion low brow jokes.

I'm gonna start trying something new with the titles of my reviews to make them a bit more...eye catching, per se. I won't go full desperately clickbait, but give it a title that can grab more attention than what I did before where it was as simple as it got. Let me know if you like this new title format :)

I know it's aimed for kids, but that show is a guilty pleasure of mine. I originally just watched it because of Daveed Diggs and Keegan Michael Key, but I ended up loving the plot and the characters. It's turned from this 5-minute book of a stranger bursting into someone's home and pressuring him to eat something, into a heartwarming series about friendship. I can't wait for the second season!

For what it's worth, this is the best movie based on a Dr. Seuss movie, honestly. While Jim Carrey was okay as the Grinch, he managed to play as Horton as faithfully kind as an elephant can be while still having some of that Carrey zaniness. That's the thing, a lot of these movies didn't seem to understand the point of the characters. The 2018 version of The Grinch played it too safe, The Lorax was convoluted and The Cat in the Hat was just awful and mean spirited. This film knows just what it needs to be. It understands the message of the original Horton books.

That movie irked me for a small reason: you see, Triton has a jail for prisoners. At one point he arrests Sebastian and the Catfish Club (how do I remember the band's name!?), and at the end the villain and her manatee sidekick are arrested. Thing is, one of the band members is a turtle, and as I just said, the manatee guy is then also placed in the cell. Turtles and manatees breathe air, and the cell is under water, with no absolute sign of access to the surface. Realistically, being placed in this cell would be the death penalty for air-breathing prisoners, so WTF, Triton!? Also the manatee didn't even deserve to be arrested and was simply put there cuz he worked for Marina. But he actually never did anything wrong and was rather sweet and cute, and he even tried to talk sense into Marina and was horrified at her plan. But still, the poor guy gets placed in the cell with his boss, where he's doomed to drown. WTF, Disney!? Manatees are endangered!

You know, it's funny how we complain when the animation goes overboard with movement and expressions only for this to both have it and do it right. Maybe it's because of the increased level of detail compared to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. In that film, there's a distracting lack of texture to the character models, and the characters themselves move too unnaturally even for a cartoon. Not only does this movie put in more effort into the models and dial the animation back more, but I do gotta appreciate its use of lighting. And it also works to the movie's benefit on account of it being a Dr. Seuss movie. This is how you do surreal animation correctly.

I personally love this movie! It was my favourite blue sky film, until the peanuts movie came out. Not to mention it’s also my favourite Dr Seuss movie, though the live action Grinch is a close second, (which also happened to star Jim Carrey!) The scene where the who’s have to prove that they are there, can get really intense, I do find myself biting my nails just hoping they’ll prove it in time. That part where Horton gets caged makes my heart sink and I do nearly scream when the clover gets dropped but get a sense of relief when Rudy catches it in time.

I have ideas for at least two Dr. Seuss movies. I won't say which ones, but my goal is to make 'em as faithful to its original source just like Horton. I have my 'A' book and my 'B' book - the 'A' book is the one I want to adapt the most, whereas there's already an animated adaptation of the 'B' book but I'm up for the challenge of extending it into a movie.

After The Little Mermaid:Ariel's Beginning I can't wait to see which film Animat will review next. I really hope that he'll review my movie request of Cats Don't Dance soon enough since I made that request. Also I have to agree with him and say that this probably is the best movie based on a Dr.Seuss book,I like it.

Horton Hears a Who! continues to be one my favorite movies of all time. It's surprisingly stays true to the original book while being its own thing. Also, I had a very 'unhealthy' obsession with one of the characters in the film, Vlad Vladikoff when I was a child, and honestly, I still love him now as a young adult. Vlad's eccentric personality, his Russian accent, and just how goofy he is, despite trying to make himself to be a frightening creature, won my heart. He's just so silly, and I love him for it! 😅😅😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Horton hears a Who was good. Netflix's Green Eggs and Ham was amazing! Both of them are still the most charming and enjoyable Dr. Seuss adaptations in recent years.

Speaking of Disney Direct-to-video sequel reviews, I'm still for either the animation hat or someone on patreon would request him the pilot movie Stitch! The Movie.

For those of you wondering why Animat gave this movie an oddly high 7/10. It’s because he’s all way too nice to Illumination and rates the grinch (2018) 6/10. He new that Horton was objectively better so he was forced to give a 7/10.

Have you seen Netflix's "Green Eggs and Ham"? IMO, it's the best Dr. Seuss adaptation EVER. (Yes, even better than the Chuck Jones/Boris Karloff version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".)

I knew you were gonna like the film and I enjoyed Horton too. This is probably one of Blue sky’s greatest works next to Ice Age, Robots, Rio, And Peanuts. This is also the best Dr Suess movie ever. It’s also strange that the fact that this is a Dr Suess movie that is now pended by Disney because Fox of course. Speaking of Disney, Little Mermaid Ariel’s beginning is next

This movie is quite underrated imo, since despite not only being one of the best animated Dr. Seuss films, but one of Blue Sky’s better films, I rarely hear anybody talk about it. Rather than feeling padded out, bloated and artificial like The Lorax did, it truly feels like they expanded this simple book into a big and grand adventure of an elephant who is faithful 100%.
