I so enjoy seeing Steph in the videos and her thought process behind the colors out front. I also like the format of the odd jobs. Very interesting to see your planting and still learn about all of the plants.

I really enjoy these odd jobs videos. They reflect well what happens daily in most everyone's garden. And I appreciate hearing your thought process on the why and how of moving plants around. That has inspired me to feel more free to move things that are on the struggle bus in my first choice of postions.

I am going to move some things around this weekend due to they are not spaced properly and need more sun. My problem is I work full time and I only have mainly the weekends. I wear myself out at 68 trying to do it all myself, as my budget is tight or I would get someone to help me. I have this long list this weekend and I will probably not get it all done, but you have certainly motivated me to try.

OMG! Every time you move your chess pieces, your gardens look more and more amazing! I'm so jelly of your weather - what the heck am I doing in (SW of) Cleveland, OH? We had a few days of mid-to upper 70's and it was GLOrious to be outside (minus cold winds), and now it's dropping to mid-50's/low 60's with night time lows of 33, 36 and such. AAARGH! Can't WAIT to see what's to come at YOUR neck of the woods, Jim & Steph! (give Holly & Griffin big, big hugs).

Hi Jim, I always really look forward to your videos. Thanks for the helpful content! In the first three minutes of this video, to your right and at the back of the garden, there is a gold-ish/chartreuse pyramidal shrub that, from a distance, looks like it might be some type of holly. Would you mind telling the name of that? I am looking for a shrub with that shape but one that won't get too wide or tall for a small space. I really appreciate your help!

Speaking of arborvitae…I have some baby arborvitae (4” pots), and I don’t know whether to keep them out of the landscape to grow them a little more, or put them right in the ground. They will stay moist in the summer, and I’m zone 8b Pacific Northwest. I have a lot of very mature arbs already, so I know they do well for me. I haven’t tried such little ones before, though. I can’t dig big holes 😢

Have you ever worked with that "Chick-a-Boom" Chickweed from Plant Delights? I prefer natives, and that has a nice shape to it, but there's zero talk about the plant anywhere that I can find. I'm a bit leery about buying one, honestly, since not a single channel is discussing what looks like a very nice addition to the garden.
@staciejackson74977 ай бұрын
Many of their plants are on the obscure side. They are a great resource, and as Tony has written, he has the plant in his garden and if it is one of their introductions, they have trialed it and thought it was worth propagating and selling.
@threeriversforge19977 ай бұрын
@@staciejackson7497 I don't doubt that it's a good plant, but I'd like it more if there was more published on it. Even in native plant circles, you never hear it mentioned.
