Great Battle Report lads! Love some red on blue action. Just as a FYI, the Mhara Gal has the Move Through Cover rule so he is not affected by dangerous terrain and would fight at initiative.

We did discuss this and decided that while the mhara gel wouldn’t have a negative modifier for the charge roll, the rule (unsurprisingly) is vague as to whether it would impact his initiative. We decided to go with the modified initiative to give the ultra a slight chance… not that it helped too much 😂

I think I’ve been using Sniper/Precision Fire wrong (and y’all got it right). Reading back over it, it looks like the attacker just gets to allocate how they want instead of allocating the initial wounds and if the target dies then the target player then gets to allocate as normal.

Yeah its just like how a controlling player would allocate wounds, to whoever they want til they die then whoever they next want til they die etc til no wounds left

I have to see i love to see the different approach to word bearers from what i usually see.. less suprises there for me on the ultra marine part bit still more variation than i usually see.

I don't think there's one specific LA discord, but a few of the local stores have heresy channels, there's Geeky Teas in Burbank and Westside Gaming, which is primarily NextGen in Mid city

@@vitaliyred622 I think you might be surprised… the suzies are a great unit, but the mhara gal definitely balance out the equation for the Word Bearers. We did our best to make sure both lists are pretty evenly matched.

@hammersanddice I'm my experience Mara's are utterly cursed, even with 6 attacks they do 1-2 wounds. And 4+ at 50% is rather good. Suzies might just be the most busted legion unit in the game. They are like 15 pts less than a centurion with the same stats somehow. You give them hammers and they are a death blob. I am watching now and yeah, the dice gods have been bribed by the WB!

Also, it is Dark Breatheren not Glorios Martirdom , which is thier reaction. And, the target for another sacrifice is selected at the end of the turn, so you can kill one in shooting, charge something, your turn ends, you nominate the unit you charged as the next victim, so in enemy's turn you may kill it, thus getting 2 buffs! @hammersanddice

@@vitaliyred622 I’ve seen the mhara gal put in some serious work in a lot of games, but as you said the dice gods can be finicky 😂. The dark brethren sacrifice is a poorly worded rule, but we believe that the intent is game turn not player turn, which is the way we play it, so that you can’t get more than one dark brethren buff per turn.

@@hammersanddice tbh WB are one of the weakest legions and this is the only viable thing they can do. also, it doesn't mean you get 2 per turn, but you can get 2 in your and opponents turn, but will have to wait until of the end of your second one to name a next victim.
