Thank you I need advice from a seasoned brother in the faith...How do you prioritize devotional reading and studying on a daily or weekly basis as a dad and husband? Share an example of what a day serving the Lord looks like in your life? Perhaps share a resource with me relating to this topic. Thank You

Hi Michael. For me, a typical day starts with some time in the Word. I read through 1-3 chapters and pray for the day. 4-5 days a week I have family devotions with my wife and children during or after breakfast and before they start school. In the evening, I tell a Bible story to two youngest children before they sleep and sing a song with them and pray. My wife and I have the goal to pray together each night before sleeping, but don't always make it. As I am part of a small group Bible study, I prepare for that on a weekly basis, which is where most of the deeper study in the Word comes from. Doing personal and family devotions consistently are the most helpful thing for building up a strong foundation. Then beyond reading, I need to apply the Word in my relationships, especially with my wife and children, as I see them the most often. I often fall short so need to confess and pray for help. The best resource is the most simple one, the Bible. Try to spend time reading it each day. Here is a resource for Bible reading plans. You could pick one and then try to find an accountability partner to help you stick to it. www.biblestudytools.com/bible-reading-plan/

May i say you have a powerful name which means " who is like God? Or A gift from God" there is a phone Bible appt that that has helped me, it has daily plans which you can open up and read Gods Word Any time. upon waking up (as soon as I open my eyes) I give thanks to My Lord for keeping me safe thru the night and invite Him to be with me thru the day to lead me and guide me .....a short prayer would be " Be thou with me and i shall be safe"- Psa 119:117. you can say that anytime and anywhere The Lord keeps a close eye on those that Love Him. i pray for you and your family today.

Thank you for these bible studies, I truely enjoy them and look forward to them I have a question thou you mentioned Sunday as a day of rest? Jesus kept the Sabbath should we not follow in His steps? Exodus 20:8 remember the Sabbath to keep it Holy the Bible clearly says Saturday??? is there any truth in keeping Sunday as Gods Holy day. i can not find in Bible where it has changed to Sunday being a Holy day the day of worship was changed by man. we are to follow the word of God as True. i am in no way trying to argue.... just curious . i believe its the book of Daniel where it says man will try to change Gods Laws

Good question. You are right. The Biblical Sabbath is Saturday or technically Friday evening after sunset to Saturday evening after sunset. My personal belief is that this command is not given in the New Testament and we are not currently under the Old Testament law. For a good article on this, you can see www.gotquestions.org/Christian-law.html Having said that, I believe that there are universal principles we can get from many of the Old Testament laws, including the Sabbath. The Sabbath teaches us the principle that we should have a time of rest (and not consume ourselves with work). It teaches us that we should withdraw from our regular duties from time to time to worship God and focus on Him. I believe we should still continue to do those things. While Sunday is not the Biblical Sabbath and we are not required to keep the Sabbath on a Sunday, Sunday is a good day to do those things (rest and worship). The early church set Sunday as a day for that to commemorate Jesus' resurrection. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with setting Saturday or Tuesday or Thursday or any other day as a time to rest and worship God. For myself, I tend to set Monday as a day with more rest because I am quite busy in the church on Sundays.
