I usually copy my narrative and send to case managers, if it's something else I'll include that also. Copy and paste is my jam! Thanks for a great video. Your videos were a huge reason I took the leap into hospice nursing!!

These videos are really helpful. I have Adhd and noted you have mentioned you have it too ( I apologise if I am wrong). Do you like the driving ( the sitting, especially)and solitary aspect of the work? I haven't worked yet in community. Just curious how you find the working independently and sitting down versus working on a unit team and always moving on feet? Thank you! 💕

I do like it for the most part. Bouncing ideas off of others is the only i miss, but especially with adhd I definitely focus better without the distraction of a unit. The sitting aspect of it does get to me but I kind of counter it by not sitting when I’m in a patients home. 😁

Hi Allie, I am brand new in hospice and start 7/11. I’m nervous but your videos are super helpful. Do you have some advice on resources for refreshing clinical skills? I am coming from heart lung transplant outpatient and tend to be organized, however I realize I have a huge learning curve in front of me. Thank you!

You have great experience! I would say the only change is that you’ll be flying solo in the home but as far as skills go foleys and symptom management are our top skills; it also depends on the type of patients your hospice admits. For instance, the one I work at also does CADD pumps, pluerx drains, and every type of tube that a patient can have. Usually I would refer to accredited university nursing programs youtube videos to brush up on skills if your job doesn’t provide you with resources.

Really great info but the audio quality is so bad... It made it very hard to listen to. Please consider a better 🎤 for the next video!

Ya I’m going to try uploading it again because it definitely wasn’t like that when I edited it. Might be a KZbin glitch.
