Hey, I know you have a busy life, but I really enjoy watching your day in a life videos. As someone who is getting ready to go to school to get her RN, and want to go into hospice I appreciate them! Please keep making these videos. They really inspire me 💕 Also, I appreciate you bringing light to Joyce’s case. I had not heard of this happening until listening to your videos. HOW HORRIBLE her company did not protect her.

Thank you so so much for this comment! Truly needed it! I am so happy to hear you want to go into hospice nursing, I feel so many people overlook it in school! I hope school is going good and that you found some time for yourself over break. Joyce’s story is unfortunately one of many and we need to always remember that our safety should be a priority. I will definitely keep making these videos!

Do you just automatically know what to do for wounds? Or do you get an order from the doctor and he tells you exactly what dressings to use?
@HospiceNurseAllie2 ай бұрын
We always get an order from the provider, give them a description of what’s going on, etc. we may give suggestions because we are the ones actually seeing the wound first hand.

The accuracy 😂😂😂. I always see my facility patients on the same day so I don’t have to deal with this multiple times a week! Most of the time the nurses don’t know what’s going on and good luck finding the CNA 😩

Good video. I am an ICU nurse 24 years and now retired and became a hospice nurse. I really enjoy it but I work PRN and not full-time. Negative documentation is not taught in nursing school and the best help for me was a book that Amity staffing sells. It is a book that helps you describe decline in hospice patients. This booklet saved my life. I did not buy the large systems book they have but only the documentation help pamphlet. It is absolutely excellent and I am glad I found it early on because I am somewhat of a new hospice nurse only one year. It gives you the proper language to paint an accurate picture of a declining patient and the right words to ensure your patient maintains eligibility. Thank you for all your videos.
@HospiceNurseAllie5 ай бұрын
Exactly!! It is a totally different way of assessing a patient and then painting that picture.

Hey, if you get a chance, can you make a video giving tips on how to best comfort the family or do the right things on day of death? I don’t mean the call the coroner and the duties but I mean the things that can possibly make the family feel comforted. I don’t have a lot of experience and I am certainly open to what has worked for you with families
