Plumbing Foreman Eric Bowman walks us through the finishing stages of the plumbing for a new patient care tower in Erie, PA. Eric covers the hospital mechanical room which contains domestic water booster pumps, instant hot water tanks, mixing valves, and medical gas skids (among other things). He also shows us how the fixtures are being installed in patient rooms.
Garrett O'Brien (2nd year plumbing apprentice at the time of filming), speaks about his experience working on the hospital project as well as what it is like working with the Spaeder team.
*Social distancing was maintained when applicable, and some footage was shot PRIOR to the pandemic.

When the municipal water supply line undergoes emergency repair resulting in localized low pressure; how does one maintain pressure on the upper floors? and how much time do the reservoirs typically provide? Is there anything that the city should be doing to help maintain pressure?

I don't like "pro press" for anything over 4 stories..always seemed to leak. Always silver solder the "mains". You guys do not do you own "med gas" silver solder ??....what state you in ?

I'm on the design side. But as a Plumber what are your issues with pro press. We typically spec sweat connections but a lot of contractor like pro press for the speed of installation and if the facility approves of it we let it go.

@@eNeVeFamily it makes it look like garbage it pulls ur pipe out of plumb or square its not a strong connection type, there is no tweaking ur finished product and there's no taking it apart. Such as with sweat. And price of course. Its bit faster but there's still prep time, file and ream. Now for a repair or something its perfect. Design side? Engineer? - ps don't believe a sales rep

@@jpmonin7429 We default to sweat connections. However, we are seeing it more and more; suggested by the contractors; as long of the facility approves of the product. I truly appreciate you feedback. Thank you,

@@eNeVeFamily its hard to explain. I've only been doing it 5 years so I'm no old timer stuck in there ways. anyone can propress which is good and bad. u can make the connections doesn't mean its right. There's alota hacks where I'm at.
