Hossfeld bender #2 with hydraulic home-made conversion

This is my restored Hossfeld Bender #2 with the hydraulic conversion. I needed the power of the hydraulic for what i plan on using the bender for. But couldnt see paying the expensive unit sold by Hossfeld Bender for home use. I came up with this idea. A cheap air over hydraulic cylinder, custom bracket to allow the cylinder to swing, with soft acetal bushings for the end of the cylinder.

U can use car springs to make it come back fast when release the pressure and u will have a production model

where did you get that air over hydraulic cylinder ( it does work horizontal ? )

I haven't been able to find a flat bottom air hydraulic cylinder at H.F. and does the gentleman have a drawing for his converion

So are you going to add a spring or bungie cords for the release direction? How many turns on the screw required to have the jack release?

I know this video is old, But that cylinder will not work horizontally.

You know not of what you speak. It will work just fine the way he has it mounted. I have one mounted on my pro tools bender basically the same way and it works just fine. Maybe do a little more research before you open your mouth.
