As a vegetarian, I prefer if separate untensils are used/washed in between. But she noticed and corrected her error. She was also upfront and honest with them. You could see how passionate she is about cooking and food, and how upset she was. I would 100% feel comfortable and enjoy her food as she puts so much thought and love into it. Also we are all human, and mistakes happen I’ve had people serve me meat sauces etc too by mistake. It was just a simple mistake

I’m also a vegetarian & prefer seperated utensils to be used. However, the lady was sweet about it. She put in so much effort & genuinely took their dietary requirements on board, as opposed to others I’ve seen. For someone who’s not used to cooking vegetarian/vegan food it’s all too easy to make the honest mistake that she did. She was upfront & went to lengths to rectify it. The poor woman was upset, but she’d frankly have received extra points from me for making a great effort & being honest.

I find rinsing onions before cutting helps immensely

Just don't cut the bottom off as that releases the "posion". If you cry cutting onions and haven't disturbed it it's just placebo making you cry

Here’s a trick . Take a sip of water and keep it in your mouth until u finish cutting the unions . You won’t have any issues

Q : why do vegans or vegetarians want to make their food look non vegan (nuggets, burger patties etc) The real question is why would you want to make animals into shapes and looks of nuggets burgers etc. Is it easier to not look at its body , chicken feet etc that might remind you it’s was a living being? - Tobias Leenart

I have coeliac and wouldn't go on this show as most people don't get cross contamination - if you are a veggie or vegan that is that strict you also shouldn't go on the show

Being coeliac is entirely different. Many talented cooks actually enjoy the challenge of cooking vegan food. I'm a meat eater myself, but I love making vegan dishes. I bet not every meal you eat has meat in it. It's not exactly rocket science.

As a chef of 20 years, its so simple. The chemicals in the root of the onion once cut are then released ,you breath these in through your nasal canal and then your eyes are watertering for ages lol. But if you just plug your nose . You wont have those chemicals causing you problems lol , also cutting width mo lengway through the root always cuts down the amount released in the first play

I would be a bit icky about it - but bless her it was an accident and she didn’t serve them the cross-contaminated part and was completely honest about her mistake. It was clear she cared about her guests and made a lot of effort.

This comment makes no sense. They sign up to be part of a cooking show knowing full well that many people are vegetarian/vegan and they will have to cater for them. As a meat eater myself, I love making vegan dishes, as do many of my meat eating friends.
