I think the first big reason he switched is because of the whole Biden conference with the big three on electric vehicles while his Tesla vehicle was already doing good and he wasn’t invited to it even though he was selling more electric vehicles and all three combined. I would’ve been irked too. That was the start of his sway to the other side, but I don’t know it seems odd to me that Trump and his “dig dig dig” and always making strange claims about renewable energy and clean energy. Trump is definitely “invested” in making the oil and coal companies the only deal in town.

The great Thomas Sowell described the difference between left and right as the belief in the perfectability of man. The Left believed it and thought that, with enough power in the right hands, they could perfect man and we could have a utopia on Earth. Old Indiana country boy here... I don't think Mr Elon started any of his various endeavors for a polital party. He started an electric vehicle company to start an electric vehicle company. He started a space company to start a space company. He started a boring company to start a boring company. He started a flame thrower company because he could.... I hate the fact any political side would say any of his accomplishments were for one political agenda or the other. As far as I know none of them risked finances when he first had the idea for any of them. They want to jump on the wagon after success and then claim it was blue, red, purple...who cares. It was none of those. Elon is an amazing individual. Period. His endeavors were his and those closest to him to take the risk and see it through to success. None of his products are political. He is changing the world...not just our 50 states. Thats all I have to say.... Going to take a nap.

In 2015 Trump was still a card carrying Blue ticket voter. What happened? He saw the state of the country, and felt that it ws now or never to get the country back on track. When he went to run in the primaries, they told him, "No, we will not support you.": HRC was their candidate of choice, and he'd better kowtow, or else. Then he jumped in on the Republican Primaries. The rest is history. I believe he knew if he ran Independent, he'd have th esame result as Ross Perot.

I went to Wikipedia and looked up senators, representatives, presidents, governors (all high-level) politicians who switched parties at some point in their political careers, whether in office or out, and then came back in (that was a criteria). The Left to Right shift vs. Right to Left is at about a 14:1 ratio. For every Republican governor that becomes a Demoncratic senator, there are FOURTEEN that move in the other direction. I was just about to type "That's astonishing", but then I thought about it... It really isn't. I can't for the life of me understand how a Demoncrat justifies their position without including some history of head-trauma or mental illness.
