I have separated my hostas and transferred some to a container. They are now sagging... How can I revive them? If I use garden ties will it grow upright eventually? What do you reccomend?

Probably those asshole slugs. Sluggo is the only thing that worked for me. Go look at night with a flashlight for slugs around and under the crown or on the leaves.

I have hostas that need to be split, but they are in a lot of sun. Is that not good for them?

No It’s not if it gets really hot in your area. They can get leaf burn. I know this because I had a dogwood tree die and it had hostas planted near the base. Without leaves, They got a lot of Sun and I had to transplant them into partial shade.

Do Hosta plants die in the fall or will they stay alive all year round?

They are perennials and come back each spring. I have hostas that are 20 to 25 years old. When I moved to a new home back around 2005, I couldn't bear to leave my hostas at the old house. So I split a number of them and transported the root balls to my new location. They have been thriving ever since. Last year I split them again. You will love your hostas! PS - Keep an eye out for slugs and take preventative action if you see them.

Do you answer questions still? I need help :( had to pull my white feather so I put the big piece in a pot and tried to split the others into @5 single growth stems. Were ok till the heat, now flopping over :( Could it be too much soil, too gritty soil, the heat idk. But how do I revive them? A couple still have a couple roots and one didn't flop yet. Please can you help me save them? Would water therapy help or just drown them?

@@haleraiser2299 when you split them, each plant needs to have a piece of the rhizome in order to root.
@haleraiser22992 жыл бұрын
@@heatherlovesdeuteronomy ok so just roots will not make it probably?
@heatherlovesdeuteronomy2 жыл бұрын
@@haleraiser2299 probably not without the rhizome.
