Thankyou for a great presentation on a fantastic trike. I bought mine for $5000 about 4 years ago. I put a Bionx D-500 hub motor on it when they were selling them at a discount for $1500. So for $6,500 I got a fast quiet and powerful electric trike at a great price. Of course there is no more Bionx anymore. Very sad.

Go Swiss is discontinuing their hub motor. HP Velotechnik will be offering it through the end of the year. The Steps system is very nice. It's light, efficient and fun to ride.

You never said anything about the wattage on the motor is or battery voltage

The Shimano Steps motors are all 250 watts. They have 418Wh, 504Wh and 630Wh batteries with varying prices.

Beautiful trike but come on, almost $10k for an electric tricycle. We are almost getting into automobile costs here. As a person that could really use a recumbent e-trike like this after having a stroke, these things are just outrageously priced in my opinion. No offense to your shop, I know it's the same price pretty much everywhere. Just a shame these things are so expensive. My daughter's wheel chair was $13k and it's not even motorized. Shame. There could be so many more people riding out there is they could afford these things. Again though, it is a beautiful trike, no doubt about it. I guess I do get drawn to the "best of the best" kind of stuff lol.

Hi Darren, We know that not everyone can afford these higher end trikes, but we now have the TerraTrike Maverick EVO Bosch priced at $3,699 hostelshoppe.com/TerraTrike-Maverick-E.V.O.-Bosch-33719/ , which will be more affordable for more people. Also, we work with a lot of agencies that help finance trikes with e-assist for people with disabilities. If your health care provider prescribes it as a tool for therapy for things like stroke, MS, Parkinsons, etc. there are many avenues to getting financial assistance. And of course, there are people who have the big bucks and buy these top of line trikes, too!
