I gave myself a galloping goose in N scale. First eyed them on Con Cor and didn't buy one. Lived to regret it till they found one for double the price. Don't know how I will explain it as my layout is Mideastern roads. Oh well it is my railroad and I can do what I want. Still eyeing a cab forward and a GG1. That will take some real tall tales. Good to watch this. You all have a good time, and we watch your adventures. Really enjoyed sitting in the cab of the "cab forward" hearing tales of this massive piece of Engineering.

Ah those cab forwards! Such a great idea. I wonder why more roads didn’t adopt them. As oil burners go no different really than the normal configuration. Except for a sea of linkage in the cab. Oh and windows you can see out of. Like a huge trolley.

Great coverage. It's fun watching your show visits now that I'm involved with our's out here. I sat ("worked") at the NMRA tables at the San Jose "Great Train Show" last month at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. I started building my HO Pullman Palace car fleet as a demo for folks. Many visitors were surprised we actually build this stuff ourselves! Talk about Lost In Space! Anyway, many people with small children asked how do you get started with a layout. One of our members (Pacific Coast Region) has a small (pizza box size) insulation board display for that purpose. I was also describing my techniques while showing off the Pacific Crest photos on my phone. In response to all of the dropped jaws, I decided to build a 14" x 72" portable How To diorama, showing each stage of layout construction in HO. It seems HO is on it's way out in Central California as no one displays it at the shows, at least at San Jose. And, like your show there, there's a lot of it to buy! I'll be posting my current photos of the Mini PC diorama on Facebook here shortly. So, give me a shout if I can improve on anything. I value your skills immensely! The Great Train Show scheduled for the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton (CA) next weekend was cancelled due to the virus panic. So, on to the PCR/NMRA Convention in Concord, April 30th to May 3rd! (One of the coordinators is threatening me to be one of the contest judges!) Yeah, right! It's only the beginning of my second year on board the NMRA train! All my best! Hawk

11:55 didn’t the UP stop running the E units?
@ToyManTelevision4 жыл бұрын
Yes. But they kept 3. And really more than that, but 3 they run in the heritage fleet in Cheyenne. With the Big Boy and 844. They also have 59 passenger cars in Omaha.

Why was only 1 cab foward saved? If they were 2 cabfowards would it be possible to restore 1 to operation?
@ToyManTelevision4 жыл бұрын
Glad they saved one! The locomotive and railroad historic society saved it. They own the CSSM collection. Be great to see one run. But as it is only Union Pacific runs on UP track. Even 4449 is stuck on small railroads. Only UP could restore and run it. And they won’t because it’s not UP. Anyway looks great where it is.

@@ToyManTelevision just out of curiosity, why will UP only allow UP steam on there tracks? Does it have to do with insurance or they don't want to deal with other railroads locomotives?

If y’all pause at at 12:13 on the right you’ll see a Tesla Cypertruck next to the tracks.

Hello Hello hi! Wow!! Tell ya what, it’s really a great hobby. Any interest where you create things is better. It’s great to see a thing you have made. And you can loose yourself in making it. And to build a working world... wow!
