I love how each country has its version of hot chocolate. In Mexico its made with a chocolate and sugar block. For the liquids we use milk or water. The taste is much more floral; In some parts of Mexico they even add spices like chilis, cinnamon and vanilla. Its very reminiscent of my childhood, yet I'm dying to try the Italian one. I'm 100% sure ill be able to knock out like 3 cups since im a serious chocolateholic.

Hot chocolate in italy is usually served with whipped cream (although you can opt out of it - it's a choice of topping) and a tea spoon. @Suisei_70i6 жыл бұрын
The recipes that she gave have the same amount of sugar per serving for both italian and american though?
@mistressx40966 жыл бұрын
American's one is fatter.
@Suisei_70i6 жыл бұрын
@@mistressx4096 That makes no sense. Both use the same type of ingredients. In each serving, the Italian version would actually yield more calories due to higher count and amount of ingredients (cornstarch, chocolate, and cocoa powder). The difference should be around 100 calories per serving from more chocolate. So unless you plan to drink two servings of the American version per one serving of the Italian version, there is no fattening here. If anything, the Italian version should be fattier from the additional chocolate per serving.
@harry45966 жыл бұрын
The Italian chocolate is just slightly more caloric. It's not like if there are more ingredients then it's automatically more caloric x'D It's not about the amount of ingredients but what the ingredients are. Like, a salad with one type of vegetable is not less caloric than a salad with 100 types of vegetables.

So both are good looking as I love chocolate, but as for a hot chocolate I have to agree with you that the Italian recipe would be more referred to as a pudding here in the states. Personally a thinner version does it for me as it goes down the throat quickly and smoothly, thus warming more of the body up in a quicker amount of time and allowing to make room for more.

The Italian is my fav! To me that’s what true hot chocolate is, American hot chocolate is good, but it’s just chocolate milk. It’s mild to me. My spoon never stayed up in my hot chocolate in France. It happens in Italia

Nope. Don't you dare compare *french* to Italian, EVER. It's simply incomparable. It's like comparing apples to oranges (we're the oranges).

Some Italians prefer not adding the actual chocolate to the mix tbh. I know many just use cocoa and corn starch. The cocoa (which is in bigger quantities compared to the American one) already gives it a pretty strong flavor and the corn starch does it's thing in thickening it. The chocolate is put in there if you want to be REALLY indulgent, but it's not necessary and it definitely makes the hot chocolate way too heavy for many stomachs lol.

In Mexico we have a chocolate that in English is called Abuelita Chocolate and it’s manufactured by Nestlé. Basically this product contains 6 tablets (wrapped individually), we boil the milk and then we introduce the tablet so that it melts (I usually put like 1-2). The aspect of this hot chocolate is thin and tastes like chocolate with cinnamon, it is really delicious 😋

Ok now I need some doughnut holes with cinnamon and sugar to dip into the American one. It would be heavenly

Buogiorno Emma ! Thanks for sharing your recipes. I just made myself an Italian hot chocolate (with oat milk and vanilla sugar) and it is AMAZING, thick and savoury as in Italy. Merci beaucoup ! 🇫🇷🇲🇦🇩🇿

Even I would prefer the American, as it would not make my mouth overly chocolaty and I would not want to stop drinking it after having just 2 sips!
@emmasgoodies6 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely easier to drink ❤ Love it so much!

no because it is to fast to drink and this is a bit rude to all the Italian people and I'm one

It's amazing for a winter day or as I did, on a rainy day.. It's really enjoyable sitting inside, enjoying the rain or the winter with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. Well I prefer the Italian one. But both of them taste amazing! Thanks for the recipe!❤️

I tried the italian one, i made it less thick. Normally I don't even like hot chocolate but it was so GOOD. I used less sugar and 75% dark chocolate.
