Today I made all of the types of hot chocolate known to man. Or at least it felt like that. Really we made hot chocolate 4 different ways. Those ways being instant hot chocolate, single serving easy hot chocolate, Italian hot chocolate, and a spicy boi Mexican hot chocolate. So as it just begins to get chilly, let's get this hot chocolate party started.

@@przybyla420 hahaha have you ever cooked before? Once it goes beyond 3 ingredients, its a whole thing. When you prepare a cooking show, all the prep is done in advance so what you watch takes 1 minute. Maybe it won't take everyone that long, but I will spend 5 minutes just finding the cocoa powder and a clean pot lol.

I realized something fun: If you use dark cocoa powder, one serving of this contains 12% daily fiber 20% daily iron 22% daily potassium 22% daily protein 30% daily calcium That's super delicious and healthier (in terms of nutrients) than a bowl of corn flakes!

Hot chocolate is something I usually only drink when I’m really stressed or anxious and need a comfort drink. So I need it to take like 5 minutes instead of 30 lol. But if it’s like a cold day out and your chilling, maybe making hot chocolate for multiple people, then I think these recipes are a great idea! I will definitely try making these in the future:D they sound lovely.

I relate to the premixed powder vs. basic hot chocolate one. I make my homemade chocolate syrup with water + cocoa powder, heated tuntil emulsified, stir in sugar and some milk to prevent clumping. Then add extra milk until diluted to milk chocolate level. Compared to powdered chocolate mix, it is like night and day. So much more chocolatey and intense and creamy.

I make hot chocolate about once every couple of months. But I make several cups and drink it throughout the evening. My first time going to Spain, was a chilly Autumn with my girlfriend. We sat outside a cafe, pulled out a map while figuring where to go first. Being chilly, we didn't want a cold drink. I suggested "Hot Chocolate". When the Hot Chocolate came, a spoon was in each cup. Not on the side of the saucer like you would think. It was incredibly rich and thick and tasted unbelievable. After 5 minutes of sipping and looking at the map. We realized why we had a spoon. We were drinking rich Chocolate Pudding! Still slightly warm, it had firmed up enough where we needed to use the spoon. Not sure if that is typical Spanish Hot Chocolate. But it sure was GREAT!

🤣 A couple of things can impact that result... 1. The temperature of the chocolate. Colder is more brittle. Obviously, going too warm can be a problem too. 🤪 2. The sharpness of the knife makes a huge difference in how nicely chocolate will be chopped. 3. The secret I learned in my baking and pastry classes? Use a serrated confectioners knife or bread knife. The points help control the chocolate a bit better, and break it up better, but a warmed, smooth edged knife is what you want for pretty chocolate curls, or a warmed bench scraper.

Nevertheless, now I'm curious and would love to try it out. EDIT: It's been about a year and I have yet to see or try this version somewhere around here. EDIT 2: it's been 2 whole years already.
